I love Mrs. Cramling sounding so mom-like when talking about technical chess positions, strategy and patterns, as if she were assessing a floral arrangement at a family banquet, or discussing the menu. She is just so "at home" with it; at the same time, it's exactly like a brilliant literature professor analyzing her favorite poem. It combines pure intellect with absolutely tender feeling, a completely feminine touch. Frankly, this combination is completely non-existent among American women with the exception of maybe some exceptionally brilliant artists (including musicians) and university professors. Even in the increasingly Americanized non-Scandinavian Europe, it's increasingly rare.
