Well, I had announced that I was phasing out this channel, and I deleted about twenty videos. Since then, subscriptions have gone up! Go figure. I have mixed feelings about being a "content provider" for corporate America. I love capitalism--but only the Ma and Pa capitalism that I saw when I was growing up in the 1970s. Now, we have monopolistic corporate capitalism. It sucks ("your call is very important to us"). YT is part of the machine. But, alas, due to demand, I'll stick around.

Cool Deutchland videos. I've jumped off the s bahn down in Bavaria randomly into small towns and i find them fascinating, beautiful and yet ominous having such an obviously dark semi recent history. Not necessarily disagreeing with your small town analogy but my take is that evil comes out of rebelious spirit toward God. If you look at Jewish history in Europe, not that I'm all knowing at all, but i think they have experienced thousands of years of hard lined discrimination and outright hate. And minorities are always at odds with mankinds sin nature, if you will, of simple "dog eat dog". This is the religious philosophy of atheism or false idolatry or false idol worship. Anything against the narrow path of God Almighty as evidenced by His Holy Son Jesus Christ who offers us forgiveness and new life. A distinctly different path from nazi philosophy. Again cool videos, and i can almost smell the leaves, the ivy and the historic buildings stone, stucco and wood work.

Excellent video, going to Munich and Berchtesgaden in 3 weeks and will definitely visit all these historic places and buildings to learn their history.
Thanks. Lucky you! Check out the "Dead Nazis in Munich" video too (entitled "Emil Maurice . . . "). If cemeteries don't freak you out, there are some eerie gravesites to visit--especially Carl Gephardt's in the Ostfriedhof.
@@johnwshermanhistorian actually have a couple of cemeteries in my list to visit in Berchtesgaden but none in Munich. Will add those in Munich after watching the video
Enjoy. I was in both cities last August and September. Love both cities. Heading back in August but only Munich and Berlin. Nuremberg is also a must see.
@@stevedavis3527 absolutely! Both cities (Berlin and Nuremberg) are on my list and detailed plans for another trip. Love to see how history comes to life when visiting these places and understand why and how things happened.
Jack and Rheaviana Beam adopted two children named Deanna Kay “Diane” Wilkinson and Joseph Leo Helle III who also died in Jonestown, but their remains were not interred with the Beam family. Incidentally, Diane Wilkinson is the young black woman who's singing "That's the Way of the World" on the NBC news footage, the night before the massacre.

90% of the original buildings were destroyed by the British, Russian and Americans who defeated the Nazis. For some odd reason, photos of Munichs architecture were taken before the war, and after the war, they tried to duplicate some of the buildings. Majority of the architecture was rebuilt after the war.

Thanks for the reply John, yes I watch Mark Felton videos and found the history underground recently made a few similar to yours in munich also. I'm planning a trip to Bavaria and Austria soon to see these historic sites for myself. Maybe you should make another trip back to Germany and continue your series, I'll be waiting and watching for them from here in little old Indiana. Thanks again!

Have you ever looked at old plantations in the southern states of the USA and how cruel things were there? Tell me a country on this earth where there was no racism, where there were no “monsters”?
I am 61 and still can't completely wrap my head around the fact that these monsters existed in a world so close to modern day. How they got so far along in their evil mission still makes me gasp. Never again.

@@MUFFINHEAD1985 hello,if you get a chance,check out 2 books by Bryan Mark Rigg,The Jews Who fought for Hitler and Hitlers Jewish Soldiers,the author spent years interviewing and gathering information on former German soldiers with Jewish ancestry,don’t forget though,a lot were deemed Jewish by the Nuremberg race laws if 1935 even though they were brought up catholic but had one Jewish grandparent etc
