Thanks so much! after spending an unreasonable amount of time hunting with basic methods I finally decided to look up alternatives. I tried this and got my shiny in about 100 brilliant encounters!
@@ThedomiNATION thanks man, I just bought a controller that records inputs so I can soft reset hunt the legends on bdsp easier, in the meantime, I got more shinies to get😎
How'd you feel after the Indigo Disk DLC added the Mark Charm? Also, Are you not including the Paldea Champion mark? BTW back when I found out about isolated encounters, and knowing that Mankey was huntable that way I knew I had to get a shiny anihilape. So I went and did it, and many months later did I realize it came with a mark. Mrs. Annie The Crafty has been one of my most trusted mons in paldea since.
My honesty opinion is the targeting feature and mark charm with title power made marks on shinies WAY too easy. It really took away the excitement I have for finding marked shinies in general. It’s still fun to try and finish the set off though! Also the Paldean champion ribbon is a ribbon and not a mark. I’m only including marks for this challenge. Maybe one day I’ll go for a ribbon master though!
Man I discovered this series not too long ago and let me tell you, I'm a fan! I wanted to do the same thing for a long time, and with bank being put in life support that drove me to finally start doing it. I really like the spreadsheet you put up! Some suggestions - maybe add in what box number each one would fall? Another thing I've seen that I think it's useful is to leave a box between gens so whenver they add a new form for an older pokemon you don't have to re-sort everything in home, just that gen. This spreadsheet is _almost_ what I wanted, but I actually want to include newer evos next to older mons (of course, those would still be catched on the game they released). Something like having Porygon2 next to porygon, even if they are from different gens. IOW, sorting by evolution line.
If you download the spreadsheet you can make those changes to it for yourself! I might do the box number thing too but lots of people organize their home differently! So lots of people might not have the regular living Dex first! Also so many people organize their living Dex regular-shiny-regular-shiny so the box numbers would vary for everyone! When it comes to reorganizing the living Dex whenever a new form comes out for an older Pokémon, it really only takes like 20 minutes max to reorganize everything. So it’s not a big deal to not leave spaces between generations. It would also change the box numbers each Pokémon would fall into as well. I understand the spreadsheet might not be absolutely perfect for everyone, but part of the reason it’s downloadable is that you can edit it to your liking! My idea was to organize it the way I like to that was easiest to understand (because I’ve seen some confusing ones out there lol) Thank you for the suggestions and for supporting the series!
@@ThedomiNATION That makes sense! I'm doing the modifications I talked about for myself, and again Thanks for making it available! Loving to follow along this as I complete my own journey <3
I'm also doing the origin dex challenge! I'm on gen3, finished Emerald now have to play Ruby for a few mons, and also Sapphire for... freaking lunatone. Really. That's it.
@@ThedomiNATION Thanks! I've already got two shinies a wurmple and a seedot while looking for that 1% surskit. Skitty, Surskit and female Relicanth really made me question my life choices haha
I'm so glad people are aware of this gym not being shiny locked. I remember during my first ever shield nuzlock I found a Shiny Litwick i called "Zuko" ( caught in a great ball because I didn't know shiny chandelure colours woops )who ended up carrying the run. Barely anyone believes me but thankfully I did have evidence through. Hope it wasn't too painful to find all of these guys
Are you asking about gen 1 or gen 4? Gen 3 there’s no Pokémon you need to catch from the safari zone. I do explain both gen 1s safari and gen 4s safari in their respective videos though
These battery holders should also work with gen 2 cartridges but I would do some research just to make sure. I’d assume the soldering process is nearly the same
That's why I hate shiny lock. I'm currently shiny hunting every legendary / mythical pokemons available up to Ultra Sun/Ultra moon and a lot of them are not available outside events (or not at all like keldeo)
Battle method isn't broken, many people just misinterpreted the way it worked. Battling 500 significantly increases the chances of finding a brilliant pokemon which has a much higher shiny rate than a non-brilliant pokemon. People believed that the whole re-roll system was broken but the re-rolls are actually related to the encounter rate of brilliant pokemon which after 500 battles are approximately 3%, giving you around a 1 in 455 shiny rate on each brilliant pokemon with shiny charm.
Yeah but if you look at the date of this video, it was posted WAY before the info was known. I even have multiple videos of me doing the correct brilliant method on my channel
Thank you for talking about platinum, it's one of the few carts I have and even though my ds is hacked I can always have someone else send it up. Missed my chance on bdsp sadly.
Thank you! For the lucky egg use a pokemon like Venonant with the ability compound eyes (boosts chance to hold item) and a Stantler with the frisk ability and the move theif (tells you what item the pokemon is holding and then you can just steal it and run) I got 2 in about 30 mins.
This reminds me of my hunt of Finneon in Canalave (because I like that Home tracks where you caught them) but gave up because it was full odds and went on for too long. This is a cool hunt, congrats!
The partner mark isn’t obtained randomly while walking. It is when Pokemon A faints, and Pokemon B enters battlefield. Pokemon B has a chance to get it. You must max out friendship. You know you got when Pokemon B comes out, and it says “Player sent out Pokemon B, the reliable” After the battle, you will see the game automatically actives the mark in the menu option
That’s completely incorrect. At the time of making this video, no one really knew how the partner mark was generated but since then, Anubis did the research on it and the way it actually works is this: When you have a Pokémon with 200 friendship or higher, it has a 1/100 chance to receive the mark every 10,000 steps you walk with it in your party. I discuss this information in part 2 of this series.
Unfortunately there isn’t. The moves and level need to be set in gen 4 before sending up and there’s no way to send Pokémon back a generation. Unless you have a backup of your save in gen 4 with the darkrai on it there’s nothing you can do
Two years later I definitely used this. For those hurting for money and don’t have the amulet, you can use this to battle sailor Huey in the lighthouse and he gives you a protein after EVERY battle. That’s $4900 extra per battle to rack up some serious money
I tired listening to your gen 1 video and go in order. But the amount you glitched, cheesed, cheated took me out of it. Was exciting about this series and now not worth watching.
God, thank you for letting me know Type:Null is huntable in normal Sun and Moon, and that I don't have to catch 960 pokemon before I can start farming it... I have like 9 boxes full and have been trying to actually play through games to get as close to a living dex as possible before mindlessly farming wild pokemon to fill the boxes...
It’s not! Certain methods of obtaining shinies in these games result in different odds of the star or square sparkles. In this gym, they favor star sparkles so it would’ve been crazy if I got them square sparkles! All three of the shinies I got from the gym were star sparkles
The rare candy come from when you put a Pokémon in the pokeball plus and use it to play Pokémon go. The money comes from selling the candy I get while chaining!
@@ThedomiNATION oh okay. Thank you. I have pokeball plus but don't know how to put them in pokeball. But I am starting my own shiny form dex for lets go, and was wondering how to afford all the balls. Thank you for answering personally man.
@@darthmewtwosmaster4064 no problem! Also I think the option for taking a stroll with your Pokémon in the pokeball plus is either under settings or the save option!
@@ThedomiNATION oh okay. Thank you again man. Watched almost your whole series on your shiny living dex. Watching them over and over as I'm working on mine. It is a mind numbing process, and I commend you on your ability to actually do this bro. Looking forward to your other living dex in pokeball videos too.
Well done! I kinda wanna get into full odds hunting too but idk if I’m patient enough. Maybe I’ll try resetting for a shiny Suicune or Reshiram in Omega Ruby or Shiny Oshawott in Black 2
The best way to get into it is to go for a Pokémon that isn’t too tough to hunt that you would really like to find shiny! And the best way to do it is when you’re just watching a movie or a show or something and just casually get some encounters or resets in!
So what can you do about the jynx and mr.mime in gen 1 if you don't have someone to trade with for gen 2 to 1 and you don't have another 3ds that has the games on there?
@@ThedomiNATION ok and thank you and ill just accept the npc one because I don't want to glitch out the red version of it and not be able to play red again or does deleting the save file fix it if it does glitch out bad?
It represents an indefinite number. But one day they will have to shut bank down to use the servers for something else or to just not keep losing money by keeping it up
Yeah turning it off does the same thing as resetting. But it’s significantly longer to power off and back on and kills the battery faster so I would recommend just doing the soft resets
@@ThedomiNATION Yes, I do a soft reset, but I turn it off when the battery is red. When I put it on charge, does the counter reset?Does this influence the chance of getting shiny?
Can I ask why you’re using honey as opposed to just walking through the grass? Does it increase your chances of encountering pachirisu? im ready to hunt one as my first shiny in bdsp
They made it so after the initial use, out of battle moves don’t have an animation. This applies to sweet scent making it give encounters much faster than walking in the grass. I used honey because it gives the same effect as sweet scent but you don’t have to press as many buttons to activate it
The one thing I'd comment on is that the bit where you used the Screwdriver to pry the battery contacts up and off is unneeded. It's actually super dangerous. Putting pressure and heat on batteries is not safe. Otherwise pretty solid video.
