We are the DQ family of 4 documenting our travels around the US. We love to visit cities, small towns, national and state parks, and explore new areas of the country.
Looks much nicer now than when I stayed there 2016. It was old looking and less than desirable. Estes park resort cabins are really nice too. 2bed 2 bath right on lake estes.
Thanks! It was about 2.5 miles I think - It took us over an hour because we stopped often to take pictures/video and look at the surroundings. Your mosquito meter will be much higher if you are visiting next week!
@@DQFamilyTravel I can imagine! We are heading to the beach and stopping in to check it out. There is a ton of places to explore on my channel that might interest you. Would love to hear your feedback! Within Congaree, did you explore any of the side trails?
I'm hoping to visit Congaree NP and this video tells me exactly what I should expect....thank you so much for putting this together! I see that your family visits a lot of cool spots, so I've subscribed in order to get new ideas! I've checked out several of the places you've visited, but there are several others you've seen that are on my list such as Mammoth Cave. Thanks again for sharing.
We had some family staying at the animal kingdom lodge so we decided to go visit, after drinking a mix drink while watching a giraffe eating a bush we realized you could make a day of just that 😂😂😂
Even though we were passholders, once we became DVC members, we would do resort only trips all the time. Now that we are no longer passholders, all our visits have been no parks. And we still find plenty to enjoy. Great coverage!
Thanks! While we love the parks, they can get exhausting. We love weekend resort only stays and now that the kids enjoy eating, it's getting quite pricey lol
We will be in Charlotte next week with a free day to explore. The debate is either here or going a bit west to Kings Mountain. Considering the mosquito meter should be at a 1 in January, this might be the place to go providing no rain or flooded areas.
Saw a gator, a huge owl, a soft shell turtle, a pileated woodpecker blasting away on a tree, and no mosquitos in April. The “knees” from the bald cypress are quite interesting. Beautiful park. I hope to return.
Wow, why is this a least visited park? Looks awesome from you video and the mosquito problem can be easily avoided by travelling at the specific time of the year!
One of my favorite vacations was a trip to the national parks as well, such great memories and beautiful landscapes ! Nice that you've done it with your kids, they seems happy to hike around (that was not my case at their age haha)
Great opening song and what a trip you guys took across America! Your kids will remember this one for a while. Nice to see they get a chance to travel and expand their horizons!
What month did you do this hike? We last did it in December 2018. It ain't for the faint-hearted, right?! 😉😎 Your kids seemed to be doing fine though. Hopefully you took some time to rest and enjoy the amazing arch!
Mount Rushmore is worth visiting once. We love, love Grand Teton NP! Have not done that hike yet, but it is a good one to do with younger kids. Dragon's Mouth is fun to see; you can basically imagine there is a dragon in there. We did not have time to make it all the way down to the brink on our trip last June, but it's such a pretty hike! Wow, the water levels are low at Avalanche Lake from when we did that hike a few years ago! Next time you are in/near South Dakota, you HAVE to go to 1880 Town...so much fun!!
I hope to visit SD again, we did very little. Custer State Park, Badlands and so much more in the area is on my list. The West is stunning - we try to visit as often as possible!
It really is! Though we are both from FL, we are fine with now living in UT, what with all the beauty that surrounds us. Custer State Park and the Badlands are amazing...
Hm, how come the water in the river is so blue? And thank you for the warning about bears - next time I`m there I will be aware, kind of scary though 😮
Wow, two big families on the road trip! So many activities, sceneries I can`t even decide which one I would have liked the most 😍 Where are you next headed to?
This was a cool visit to this historic site. I really loved hearing the history and stories that goes with this site. I really need to visit the Outer Banks of NC one day! Thanks for sharing!
Really cool trip! The landscapes out west is just so beautiful! I'm hoping to get out to some of these national parks this year. How long did you spend on this road trip? OMG what a great surprise to spend some time at Great Wolf Lodge! I'm sure they enjoyed!
I've always been on the fence about packing cubes because I felt like I could fit in more things without organizers. But this video has given me a different perspective, I think.
