The Humber Arboretum offers 100 hectares of public gardens and natural areas connected to Humber Polytechnic North Campus. Located in the Humber River watershed in North Etobicoke, "the Arb" exists as a unique tri-partnership between Humber Polytechnic, the City of Toronto, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).
The Humber Arboretum is free to visit and open to the general public. A variety of educational programming is offered out of the LEED Gold Certified Centre for Urban Ecology, including nature camps, bird walks, gardening workshops, and special programming for Humber Polytechnic staff and students.
Is there a company or design architecture that did this? A factory I know of is thinking of implementing such a passive ventilation system in their warehouse and production floor.
I would like to construct a small house with glass walls. Can you give more details about how this type of walls are constructed? Or point me to some further reading? Thank you very much. The building is amazing.
Great stuff... finally found a Butternut that was producing nuts and the taste was fantastic. I planted a few of the fallen nuts - they're rare because of shade-intolerance and the canker. But here in New York State, it's more a matter reforestation and deer browse that limits their regeneration. I've even found a few in second growth forest. And on talus slopes.
Ey! This ain't no tree! lol xD. Glad it works though, thanks for sharing. I found this video because I was thinking about a house with glass walls that one could fill with water, smoke and spotlights for cool effects :P.
