I think many people have had the same issue as me - listening to mp3's / RU-vid music then start to play a game like Battlefield. It was driving me nuts, as soon as the game would start to load I'd get a tinny sound, almost an echo, almost distorted. Either youtube would sound would be clear and the game lower and distorted or the other way around. Now, if you have a microphone on your setup and don't use it in games then the fix I found that completely solved my issues was to logout your game client (Steam / Origin so the tabs are not greyed out and you can make a change) then in the Origin / Steam settings go and disable the microphone on the voice chat tab! Worked for me, this was driving me utter nuts for months.
For Me Every Like Inbetween Every 10-25 Seconds This Glitchy Thing Will Happen With My Audio On Anything But Its Hard To Describe... Its Like It Freezes Then Continues? PLEASE HELP!
1. Find out what sound driver you are running. 2. Find the driver on the internet and download it. 3. Begin the install and restart the pc etc. 4. Continue installation after reboot. Check The sound device playback options also. (right click sound symbol on taskbar and click playback devices...)
I have a gigabyte mobo thats my problem, it doesn't allow Realtek sound drivers only VIA which is crap. I reverted back to Win 7 and popped my old headset back in, everything is fine again now.
Owen Allford Right click on the speaker in your task bar you should have three options pop up play with them until you get better sound... Still not right but better than it was. =/
Check if your speaker set has a virtual surround button, something like matrix sound in my case, enabe/disable, perform speaker test in Sound menu, if that does not work, remove Realtek audio HD drivers, restart your system and test again. You dont need realtek drivers to have sound on your system, but i think the problem is that you have virtual surround enabled on your speaker set disabling this wil give you the front speaker sound.
unsure of what to select when it asks for version I have Win 8.1 was using realtek audio HD but it continually conks out and I lose the center speaker !!! the rest work but it should be coming out the center that spread out as surround sound should! After sleep mode i have to uninstall and reinstall Realtek and it's becoming a GD bother! Must be a conflict with the AMD drivers or Win 8 /8.1 !!

I have had all sorts of problems with computers over the years with HD video editing, which I put down to my ineptitude. As a result of my problems with video editing, I have had my computer rebuilt, with Windows 8 installed, 8 Gb of ram and some other bits that I dont understand. When I turned the machine on and found that I had no sound, I wanted to throw the lot out of the window. Thanks to this tutorial it is now working. I cant thank you enough. Can you recommend HD video editing software.
