That driver wasn't stupid guys he or she was just trying 2 get out of your way I would've done the same thing and actually I've done it a few times be4 my driver's license got suspended in the state of Oregon and I did one other time when I wasn't legal 2 drive I had an ambulance coming up behind me and I was the one of the first vehicles at the red light because I was in the middle lane I proceeded through the intersection laying on my horn and turned on my headlights and flashers and held my hand out my driver side window in a shape of a stop sign and I had my other dumbass bro in law do the same with his hand and and when AMR ambulance seeing me going through all they said on the pa system was proceed with caution and as soon as I got through the intersection I immediately pulled over 2 the right and stopped 4 them I was just making a clear path through even though they didn't tell me 2 run the red light and pull over I just took it upon myself bye helping them because they shut their siren off behind me at the light in my small town all we have in the main streets is one-way direction and 3 lanes each on both sides 7thst and 6thsts r all one-ways and when the ambulance passed me the passenger she said thank u so much because their was a kid trapped in the car in an accident on the freeway or interstate 5 North bound that's exactly why most of the time I'll try 2 help them get through the intersection without them telling me 2 do so and thank God the cross traffic stayed at there green light so don't be calling driver's stupid 4 helping u guys get 2 calls and save lives but u guys be safe from one former firefighter 2 another
Considering that these guys are responding to a school call, you'd think they'd drive a little faster on straightaways. Plus aren't middle schoolers like in the 10-14 age group?
In my opinion, the best part of working with this fire station is the awesome view you get to look at as your pulling out of the station or just going home at night. Great video BTW.
Being from NYC where cars barely pull to the side of the road when emergency vehicles are coming it absolutely amazes me that cars on the other side of the street come to a complete stop
Improper ppe bunker gear will slow you down. Even if you just wear boots and jeans and for gear a helmet and gloves. That would be safer than structure gear.
