Thank you for this video. When you reach a certain age you can see the passing of eras and that's how I see Maggie's death. She was part of an era. Judi Dench is another for me, and there have been and still are others. But, as a previous comment stated, she left a huge body of work, and that's a blessing for sure. I'm so sad she's gone.

Great - nobody mentions her Scottish mother and connections! Maggie always mentioned her father but her mother seems to have been a typical cold, Scots, disapproving influence. Maggie did spend some time in Scotland as a child but very little info. Just interesting.
Wow. 10 minutes of a 30 minute documentary devoted to say, yeah she was a difficult, demanding, nitpicking b😂😂😂. I adore and admire both her and these talented mendicity-mongers😂
Why would anyone expect an actor to be a great bundle of laughs to be around? Maggie Smith is a serious professional. You clowns should bow to her, and be thankful to be in her presence.
Maggie Smith in "My House in Umbria" is the most moving movie for me, but "The Woman in the Van" shows off her professional range. I absolutely adore her in everything.
She is an icon. I absolutely adore the work of her son, Toby Stephens. (I am not familiar with the work of her other son.) While it is clear that he loves and admires his talented mother, it is equally clear that he has found it important to establish his own acting career without reference to hers. I can imagine that she would have been an extraordinarily difficult mother and one might have had to tiptoe around her, as if walking on eggshells.
Guess what I'm still here I just turned 90 in May 2024 and all my other gals are still here too Maggie Smith Judi Dench Shirley maclain there's a few others that were born in 1934 I can't think of him right now when I still get around not as good but I use a walker but I pick up around in the apartment and I go and sit in the patio tend to my flowers God bless
I enjoyed the movie very much I've never seen it before I'm the same ages Maggie Smith 88 and Judy Dench 88 and Shirley maclain88 that's why my name says 88 I shall be 89 May 7th I've been sick but today after watching the movie I feel well enough to put my makeup on today so thank you for the video it made me smile quite a bit her acting is impeccable
I could sense the interviewer didn't really read her autobiography, He might have searched and highlighted sentences , clauses, and phrases without checking the contexts of how they were said .
Peter O'Toole should have got the Oscar for this performance just stayed the right side of unbearable only he could have achieved it - the whole cast were superb RIP all of them - with a special mention for Leslie Philips
