Howdy folks, welcome to my channel. I've lived out in the hills my whole life and over the years I've picked up a skill or two but I am forever aspiring to learn more. I made this channel with hopes of passing along the skills and knowledge I have already and take you with me as we learn together. If you are interested in bushcraft, self-reliance, primitive skills, homesteading, survival, fishing or just about any other related outdoor goodness then I hope you'll stick around and join me.
It is highly likely that you got two rods in one, you have a farrel rod on the one side. And a magnesium rod on the other. You scrape shavings of the magnesium and then light it with the farrel rod
I bought one of these probably about 4 years ago. It is still in the blister pack unopened in my desk drawer. I noticed that there is an updated / newer version available. Might have to buy it.
HU, PUT YOUR HAND ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BLADE SO IF IT JUMPS OUT YOU WOUN'T CUT YOUR HAND. 78 YRS OLD AND BEEN DOING THIS FOR A LONG TIME. JUSY A LITTLE SAFETY TIP.
There are so many fishing kits out there, I think some of the best come with a "reel" of some kind like this one. It is always good to 1. know what fish are in your area, and 2. ask those who fish the area regularly what baits work for what fish and which technique/presentations seem to work best.
I have the same bow saw, it’s a beast! I use it to cut through sticky fatwood. I have the Fiskars folding saw also but the bow saw is much faster. Cool review, thanks for sharing.😊
A very good presentation and I was wondering whether that was Locust or something else. Locust makes that a real test much better than Poplar would have. That bit look very good.
An open question does anybody make the ring that fits onto the original square shank of the auger bit? Idea being you can use one handle piece for a variety of sizes of existing augers. Thank you
Hello, Chrissy; Thank you, I've been looking for something like this. I already thought I could use split rings to hold the blade to the uprights. I'm going to try to use split rings (keyrings) thru the blade holes & the uprights thru the rings. If you know what I mean. I think the rings can hold the blade w/ the uprights stuck thru the rings. I think you split the upright's bottom ends for the blade but I missed it somehow. I want to try the rings around the uprights. I think tightening the windlass (winder) will keep the blade on the uprights. That is what I am going to try. Tulip popular would be good for a buck saw. I've got some dead dry camphor, at least I think it's camphor, & I'm going to try that. I'm planning on cutting a groove around the top ends & tie a clove hitch in the groove. I've got some #36 bank line for the winder. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
But it won't easily make tenons sweetheart so you can assemble stuff for a shelter or something to throw a tarp over to keep you dry or warm and a chair and table for whatever.
