Samsung owes you some money, my friend! Thank you so much for this hack. My husband is fixing ours right now less than 10 minutes and using the oven for the very first time I lit a pan on fire. 🔥
Hey quick question for ya! I just got the exact same stove (used) installed today, and it's resting on the counter top on those overhanging lips left and right and free hanging on the bottom. I see your stove seems to also rest on the counter top. Do you have anything underneath the stove for support or is is free hanging?
My stove has feet that can be raised and lowered underneath. I have them set so that the lip is barely touching the countertop. I would be nervous about having too much weight on that lip personally.
I have the gas range and a burner got bumped I had a noodle board on half the top thank god I walked out and saw the smoke from it or my house and pets would be gone
Had three fires in our kitchen because of these knobs! I even bought knob locks from Etsy and they failed. Samsung doesn’t care. I will never buy anything from them again!
Awesome!! Thank you. I just did it with my stove works great :) The knobs are on top but have been accendentilly turned on with a parcel placed on the stove.
How has this worked for you, now that it's been a year? I can't believe how flawed these stoves are. I spent over 1k on mine and it causes horrible anxiety
I bought the brand Safe One covers for child proofing, but yeah, we're only 2 adults here. it's ridiculous that you have to baby proof an adult household because we lasted um.... twenty minutes before a fire? We'd just gotten in the house, turned out a bag spilled over onto the stove, and next thing you know there's smoke. happened again twice more where they got bumped, I said we're not using the stove at all until I order something.
In my roller rink where I play derby we named the hitting pad. I know it’s seems weird and kinda stupid but we all get to hug him after any of our drills. His name is bob!!
I was able to put the child locks on the same exact stove. Just take off the knob per usual and put the child lock on top of the bottom layer and put the knob back on.
And the girl said: "I have him so I can hug you like a man" and then the tree said: "Don't you understand my trunk is covered with sharp spikes that will stab you like 1,000 knives a hug would be nice but hug my leaves with your eyes"
We used to pull the knobs off when we would go out of town so the cats (or the wind) didn't accidentally turn the oven on. Unbelievable how poorly Samsung is making their appliances. We also have issues with the digital display, where if even a small drop of water lands on the display it will triggure the oven to turn on. I will avoid Samsung at all costs with my next purchases but I suspect all box store manufacturers have the same issues. Maybe I'll buy a refurbished oven from the 90's.
We've caught things on fire 3 times by accidently bumping the knob. I was ready to sell my stove and buy a new one, even though ours is only 1.5 yrs old. This is genius! Thank you!!!
We have a gas Samsung with different but very similar knobs. Guess who caught several things on fire🙋♀️ I just take the knobs off and only put them on when using it and only the burners I’m using.
The third time it happened to me this morning, caught dish towel on fire. I saw this video and didn’t have the rubber locks but I used yoga mat, and now I am confident it won’t happen again. Thanks for this video
Interestingly enough, the two knobs that only have one-size burners are much safer, but the outer knobs are incredibly easy. They'll even turn on with any of the "pushing in" motion for the "middle" direction. We've had ours for four years and just two days ago has it become an issue because of out cat.
Guessing you don’t own this stove because I said the same thing when my wife bumped them several times the first couple of days we had it. Well after a few months I’ve bumped it a few times normally reaching for something in the upper cabinet. My dog turned it on multiple times today. We didn’t have this issue with any of our previous stoves so it’s not like my special helmet is impeding my vision or coordination because its the same helmet I’ve always had.
