How's it going, everyone? My name is Juno, but I also go by either Trixter Foxx, or Akira. I like to play video games, so you'll find videos and playlists on different games I decide to cover, sometimes even just one-offs. I did have a second channel dedicating to doing actual Let's Plays with commentary, but I guess people lost interest, so I'll just do more gameplay related content here because I really just enjoy showing off any game that I think deserves to be showcased.
Be warned that I don't upload consistently, as RU-vid is just a hobby for me, but I do enjoy making videos for this channel when I'm in the mood to do so.
This is extremely good and might be my choice for a definitive 02 remix (and there are a plethora of them). I would choose the mashup on CCArchive’s channel that incorporates Desolo Zantas’ fantastic remix since it adds more power and resound to 02’s voice, but it also seems to diminish the vocals overall a bit in that mashup. My only complaint would be the somewhat jarring transition form 02 to Ribbon at 3:05. Other thank that, the vocals sound amazing together and you incorporated in all the best lyrics from both of them.
Well actually about it being an FPS it was met with skeptisim on reveal because of the FPS approach because Nintendo fans were thinking "seriously this will never work how the hell can you turn a 2d platformer into an FPS?" and they were worried about it becoming a generic FPS game which for them they were gladly proven wrong on release so honestly I feel like Prime being compared to Halo is a little unfair as nintendo didn't intend on making it into a full on FPS they were making it among the lines of a first person adventure game rather than trying to copy Halo I mean sure both franchises are both sci fi and first person but I'd say that's where the similarities end for most fans
It's not as bad as I made it sound when I made this particular rant, but I still argue the story could've been so much better, which is why I still wish scanning the artifacts, and learning more about the Chozo that DID inhabit Tallon IV (even though they weren't the same actual ones that raised Samus and gave her the iconic Power Suit) could've made the game that much interesting storywise. It still didn't help that I didn't have much of a reason to care about Samus, unlike Fusion and Dread. People say Fusion had way too much story, I argue that's not true. Personally, I think something that really hurts the Prime series overall is how it's placed in between the first two mainline Metroid games, and people are just okay with that. If the Prime series was just its own seperate continuity, I probably would be less harsh on it.
One slight mistake I made: The events of Metal Gear 2 were in 1999, not 1997. That means the events of MGS take place 6 years after Metal Gear 2 instead of 8. That was my bad.
Exclusively on Gamecube. You'll just have to look up a tutorial on what emulator to get, and a website to find an ISO of this game. I'm sorry I can't be much help there.
Sorry for the confusion here, but I'm trying to respond to your comment regarding the slander of Bill Cosby and that censorious clown either deletes or possibly shadow bans my comments. You are one of the few who actually just didn't accept what he said. Bill Cosby admitted to using drugs consensually with women and that's it. The initial DA cleared him and found the accusers were lying. Another DA years later ran on a platform to go after Cosby. He lost, but later he ended up being the judge in Bill Cosby's trial. He allowed his DA friend to commit all kinds of egregious violations of Cosby's rights. When the initial DA wanted to testify to Bill Cosby's Innocence, he was barred from the court as a hostile witness. Furthermore, the most crooked attorney, the same one who had accusers make up stories about Michael Jackson, did the same thing to Cosby. Gloria Allred is the witch's name. Furthermore, Cosby turned down a plea deal with no jail time and the accusers were crushed on the stand by Thomas Mesereau.
Yeah, not sure why the editing software wouldn't let the tempo in certain parts change. It's more noticeable with Edobean's lyrics than Man on The Internet's.
I actually prefer 3rd person so I can see wtf am doing and actually hate first person Metroid. It is annoying trying to jump platforms in first person and feels cheap.
Almost had a mini heart attack for another Travis Strikes Again... But yeah, NMH2 released in 2010 and TSA released in 2019. That 9 year gap. But Suda is currently working on Shadows of the Damned. Anyway, have a good time. This is one of my favourite intros.
prime had negative critique or atleast the two sequels after as they went on, primarily for gimmicky gameplay concepts like the dark world, i guess other m controlled like how i wanted with a metroid game but a little confused with the combat tho i actually liked it considering i love the ninja gaiden games, the pstd part only happens for one segment but is very cringworthy i guess the environment had to do with it, i dislike the idea of samus being a cold person, i love her big sister-like jokey curveball personalty in the joey manga, again fuk those weirdos whom wanted her to be a musclebound femchud like nickonaquamagna
I don't know which emulator that is plus the video quality itself is not the best but i try a guess. It could be the wrong texture filtering setting. From what i can discern it looks like texture filtering might be turned off, which should in theory provide the highest sharpness, but.. the n64 used bilinear filtering, so the designers of the game probably tailored the text to look nice with that. If it is already set to bilinear, try if the emulator supports other texture filtering modes. If it isn't that, Anti Aliasing can also mess with low res fonts.
By default, the emulator used for the N64 footage is Mupen64Plus Next. I'll look into the Retroarch settings and see what I can do about it from there.
So, I'm going to redact a few things that I'm more than sure people might have gotten upset at me for saying: 1) In the description, I say that I couldn't get into Metroid Prime because it was an FPS on a system that couldn't do that genre correctly. I'm taking that statement back because in more recent years, I have played other FPS games on the GameCube (mainly TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect), and they control relatively well, so I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I put that in the description. 2) In the video, I talk about how I don't think the controls work, as far as the original GameCube version is concerned. I still think that might be true, but considering the remaster has been out for a while now on the Switch, I'm at least glad that version has a control scheme that feels a lot more comfortable to play with. 3) While the control issue has been fixed, thanks to the Switch remaster, I'm still not a fan of the game's story, or more specifically how it's handled. Samus coming across Chozo artifacts, learning more about the Chozo that inhabited Tallon IV would have been more interesting, but I'm just sad that this was given the side quest treatment, where the story that does matter just feels paper thin by comparison: Meta Ridley escapes from Frigate Orpheon, go to Tallon IV, and take him down if necessary. While a lot of Metroid fans may not like the story of Metroid Fusion, which I should remind you, came out an entire day before Metroid Prime did, I still say that story was far more interesting, considering it actually stuck with me. Prime as a whole, despite the problems I had with it when I made this video, still has good things going for it. Amazing soundtrack, beautiful presentation, and a very smooth 60 fps frame rate.
Something I need to bring up, for those who watch this: Completely disregard what I said about the podcast for every 1st Sunday of the month, I took that tier down on my Patreon. Sorry if I led you astray with that, but that's also why there's no link to Patreon either. Sometime down the road, I'll try to have a general support tier on Patreon set up, and have it as low as Patreon will allow me to set it. Again, sorry for that little bit of misinformation near the end of the video.
Given how the tone kind of shifts before getting to Jeane, I think it makes more sense for the tone to become a bit more somber, which is what I was going for here. I like the fight with Henry (if you choose the real ending of course) just fine, and personally, I like the twist with him more than the one with Jeane, but that's just how I feel.
