We sell all the spare you could ever need for your FREESAT TV box and a few other brands such as Youview & SKY. We also like to provide the best help we can for people new to the platform
Hi We dont recommend SSD upgrades for this box. Thats not to say it would not work, but with the age of the boxes now, we have not tested the upgrade and would see no real benifit in doing so.
Thank you. Freesat's own website is wrong. Spent ages banging my head with no success; a couple of minutes watching your video and a minute or two programming the remote 👍👍👍
I bought one of those cheap freesat boxes off Ebay. It works really well off the old Sky Dish! I needed a couple of male and female plugs, a couple of quid to buy and then you've to set up the tuning yourself! But once set up they're not bad for the price!
Hi, you you are asking if the Freely Service is on this device. No it is not. freesatspares.co.uk/blogs/news/freely-alternatives-will-iptv-lead-the-way
I have a wideband LNB from sky Q usage that works with a freesat box no issues. I want to connect the dish straight to the TV. Is there a vid to show how to switch it to an older style LNB?
Hi. the 2 systems are not compactibale but you could change your LNB to a Hybrid type which has both types of output in one device that work as indpendant outputs. freesatspares.co.uk/products/4k-hybrid-lnb-run-your-freesat-sky-more-from-one-dish
How do I reset my PIN? I've lost/forgotten it. Your PIN can be reset using the master PIN. In order to protect minors, we don't publish the master PIN, so please contact MANHATTAN TV and they will give it to you. Once you have the master PIN, go to the PIN section of the Settings menu and choose the 'Change PIN' option. When it asks for your PIN, enter the Master PIN and then follow the instructions to create a new one.
The Sky installer used my existing dish which i was using for my Freesat box he swapped the Universal LNB for the Sky Q wideband LNB then he installed the original cables belonging to the Freesat box but now the signal test on my Freesat box says 'not receiving a signal' and 'only one cable inserted' even though the two original cables belonging to Freesat box are currently inserted. Should I contact Sky to resolve the issue?
My wife hates her new Sky Q mini box, she says it's too complicated. Unfortunately the original cable feeds that connected her Sky + no longer receive a signal to the changeover from Universal LNB to a Hybrid LNB. I already have a Sky+ working off the Universal section of the Hybrid LNB going into the living room, there's two spare ports remaining on the Sky's supplied Hybrid LNB and was wondering if those remaining ports will work on the previously-used Sky + box which I want to relocate to the kitchen.
@@n49martin OK, if you want to run SKYQ and a Freesat Humax box you will need a Hybrid LNB. we made a video on this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SyECp8O_OCI.html
Thanks for your help. Everything is working on my box ok but the tv keeps changing the size of my tv from full screen to letter box and there's no instructions in the manual how to keep it too one size full screen all the time so it doesn't keep changing can you help me please 😀
I need to use my existing sky L&B until December, then I will switch over to Freesat, can I change my LMB now for a universal and still get sky or do I need to wait until I change over to freesat? I don’t want to be on a ladder in December
if you are goingt o use a FREESAT ARRIS UHD box, no need to change anything. if youa re going to use an older box (humax or manhattan) maybe switch to a hybrid LNB, which can do both WB and UNI outputs
I hate that WIDEBAND LNBs, that is not a Standard in the whole of the EU.. I Brought me an SKY Q from England. And now i would need those Nonsense LNB.. But that makes my Dish Not longer Compatible with my Old Receiver.. and vice versa.
hi. its not freesat, but I was under the impression there was a serect menu that allowed access to the LNB settings and it could be changed for other LNBs
@@FreesatSpares SCR is not working as well with my Universal LNB and the SKY Q that was a thing i tryed out, and i found this option wou your Video :) My Linux Receiver Works just Fine.
I go straight from the dish into the TV which only has 1 sat input, I assume this LNB would not be suitable ? Or would I need to ad a box to receive all channels ? (prefer to avoid this if poss)
@@Gmh6477 most TV satellite inputs use a universal type so if you had sky HD that's what you would use right away. If you had sky q you need to change the LNB to a universal type.
@@tonyhill3514 hello Tony yes the Manhattan SX box will work with any sky dish that has a universal LNB see your other videos about types. For the Sx box you will need to make sure the LNB is a universal or hybrid type
@@tonyhill3514 another way to look at it is if you had sky q it will not work if you had sky HD it will work. But if you need to change the LNB on your dish it's very simple
@@migsvensurfing6310 great question the Freesat uhd 4K boxes do not need the internet to operate but of course you won't be able to access the smart features
I've got one of these boxes. I had high hopes for it. But the picture quality is dark and a bit washed out. If I change settings then it's just too bright. It's a shame because it's a otherwise good box. The way to enter into apps is also much easier than on a Sky Q box. So it's a real shame.
Hi, I’ve just installed a Zone 2 dish and cannot get a program. Now I’ve gone for a zone 2 but I live in East Midlands, the reason for this is the old one started pixelating. I thought it would be better, but now not sure. Can you shed any light on the problem please. It’s an LGOled 65” brand new TV. Very strong signal strength from the Astra Satellite
@@stevemcilroy.62 it's a really difficult one to give advice on when I can't see the installation things like trees in the distance might be causing an issue damage to cable and obviously if your dish isn't aligned correctly. And like this video talks about if you've got a wide band lnb be and you need a universal type you're not going to get a signal
@@FreesatSpares thank you for a promo response. It’s a brand new cable, dish, and the signal strength from the meter shows top of the scale, so really puzzled. It’s also a new tv, so the free sat is already installed. I’m thinking of changing the whole dish for zone 1 and if that don’t work, I’m up Sh” creek without a paddle,
@@stevemcilroy.62 if you're using an analogue metre with a needle that really doesn't mean much because there's hundreds of satellites in the sky and you could be picking up on any of them... To help you there's a great app called satfinder which gives you reference points that you can line up the dish
@@FreesatSpares yes, thanks. While the TV was tuning, it did say Astra 28.2E so I’m assuming that’s what it was aimed at. I will have a look at satfinder now, thank you
Thanks for reviewing the Manhattan t4-r .One thing that annoys me about all these machines is if I'm replaying a recording and I say press pause half the screen is blocked from view for a number of seconds. It would perhaps be good if you could check for this annoying design flaw when reviewing machines in the future. It would allow me to avoid certain machines. Thanks Thomas
Thank you for posting this review. We have the Manhattan T3-R. A good enough recorder but it does have some little problems. For example when plugged into our new Sony A95L it tends to switch the TV on again after we’ve switched our TV off. We’ve tried switching off the HDMI control on the recorder but the problem is still there, is it still switching our TV on again after we’ve switched it off. The one other tiny thing we don’t like about the T3-R is that when it’s in standby, ie off, there’s a constant red light showing on the front of the box which we hate. What I’d like to know, does the new T4-R show the same red light when switched off? If not then we could be interested in upgrading to the T4-R. And any helpful tips to stop the recorder switching our TV on again after we’ve switched it off would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Crazy mark-ups on the RRP - the 500GB model is £30 cheaper elsewhere; the 1TB £60 cheaper; and the 2TB £70 cheaper! It'll be Richer Sounds for me, thank you very much.
Hi. thanks for your comment, its not really about mark ups, its buying power, being just a small independent company, we can not get these boxes at the same prices as the big boys, such as argos or currys. But I think were we win is a great personal service to many of our very happy customers.
@@FreesatSpares"Buying power". Being a smaller company doesn't give you the right to rip people off. People will and SHOULD go elsewhere for their purchase if thats your attitude 👍
@@ONEWAYLEEWAY I think you are misunderstanding what I am trying to say. We can not buy these boxes as cheap as the large retailers, so if we sell them, we pay more than them at the wholesalers. We pride ourselves in providing the best customer information and support from years of experience and go above and beyond for our customers.
Not sure I'd ever touch a Manhattan again. Every one I've had has slowed to a crawl, been massively lacking in basic features (seriously, no netflix, d+, youtube...not even a browser?!) and overall just seem to be made as cheap as possible. They're good as a very basic entrylevel device for someone very technically illiterate and who doesn't use anything other than basic terrestrial (which is fewer and further between given the awful quality of shows these days), but thats about it. Certainly wouldn't even put them in a mid-range category at this point.
Given they delayed launch of this by a few months they should have released it with at least netflix and RU-vid. I won't be buying this now, I'll stick with Freesat. One annoying part of Freesat is NO remote recording via the app. For some totally BIZARRE reason Freesat have removed this facility!!!!!
First time I have ever seen a product review on RU-vid from anyone, amateur or otherwise, where they could not wait 5 minutes to eat some food and munched their head off through half of the review. I'm actually astounded you would think that was even remotely acceptable, I'd personally be embarrassed and re-record the bits that I had ruined with my appetites need to feast...
Used this product for a week now cost me £169 and its value for money. I was disappointed that there was no Netflix, Now and Prime Apps otherwise love the specs and would recommend if you want to record programmes to skip commercials and find easily your TV schedule.
@@andyturner7963You will require a spare HDMI socket for this receiver. Outdoor aerial is recommended on Manhattan website although I am using portable aerial although live 5 miles from the nearest transmitting mast. Obviously reception while using a portable indoor aerial will vary depending on your own circumstances and distance from nearest transmitter site. I feel that these are fantastic devices and serve as a great alternative to ongoing expensive cable and satellite TV subscriptions. I now want to purchase one for my holiday caravan but will need to do some extra research to determining signal quality and if I will require an external aerial to be installed. Nonetheless it will hopefully be a great addition to my mobile holiday home if I can make it work in such a remote location. Edited to fix obvious autocorrect errors.
Very disappointed with your review. I wanted to see the EPG for recording which is what I’m going to be using it for perhaps you could do another video.
Hi, do you have any idea what fault my box has it’s a white Humax Freesat 1010s box an overnight it stopped working and just makes an intermittent buzzing clicking sound just like a hard disk drive sounds when in use but it’s not hdd because I’ve disconnected it an noise still persist but no power light an won’t power up. 🙏
It's not the type of problem that needs parts, it needs specialist tools, it's more cost effective to let a company like ours carry out the repairs for you.
Thanks anyway but I’ve already be burnt as someone sold me a replacement box saying it powered on when it doesn’t an has the same issue as mine. So that’s why I’m trying to repair myself. I’ll figure it out thanks anyway.
@@DJSupaflyguy well that's up to you, but we are a long standing company with many happy customers if you wanted to send me that one as well, I can probably fix it.
Hi, I’ve got a white 1010s which suddenly stopped working overnight, the power standby light no longer comes on and it makes a kind of noise the same as a HDD when in use so I unplugged everything and an connected power an noise starts again an it sounds like the noise is coming from CPU motherboard main chip under heat sink. Do you have any idea of fault and any possible repair or could it be caused by lack of power in faulty capacitor ?
I currently have sky q dish and works with free sat plugged directly in my TV but I wanted to get a box I wondered why this won't work with sky q dish is free sat and satellite works when connected the cable straight to TV?
If you want to use a Manhattan sx box you need a LNB that has a Universal output, Sky Q LNBs do not have this, An Universal or Hybrid LNB is what you need, we sell these are freesatspares.co.uk
@@FreesatSparesThanks for reply, i'll find a local shop now i know i can just replace that part. Such a pain that it doesn't support that dish. I read other makes do!! 🤷♂️
