Nice try. Pity that Sheryl Crow doesn't do the lead voice. Much better interpretation of "Little wing" : the one of Bill Evans. By the way, also with the young David Sanborn on the sax (but not that much in the foreground). Little Wing of Jimy Hendrix. A monument. Careful though NOT to listen to the "remastered" version on the Jimi Hendrix album of 2017! ! That one's done bad, destroys the song. Listen to the old stuff, live versions from 1969 or so. Bad quality, but that's the real.
David Sanborn passing away was a day that music died again, just for awhile. The enormity of his talent was dwarfed by the chasm formed by the world losing him.
In this song, a crazy performance by David, truly incredible, demonstrated his great, unattainable talent. David Sanborn, thank you for leaving us all your wonderful melodies.
R.I.P. David....Been a Clapton fan for 50 plus years and that's the first time I've ever seen anyone cut Eric....well done. BTW; nice comeback on the second solo Mr. Clapton
I saw this show and as the biggest Doors fan ever, I loved every minute! Loved the mystique of Ian's performance. No one can sing as deep and soulful and Jim, but this came damn close!
R.I.P. David Sanborn. A brilliant, remarkable saxophonist. Although Clapton and Crow had discreetly laughed looking each other during Sanborn's sax performance, it has made an essential contribution to this posthumous tribute to Hendrix. Hendrix would surely love it.
