I am a lifelong, diehard fan of AC/DC. That said, I think the lyrics of 'Night Prowler' sound more like a song about Michael Myers from the movie "Halloween" than a song about a guy who steals women's panties (or a horny teenager sneaking into his girlfriend's bedroom, as the band has also claimed). "And you won't feel the steel til it's hangin' out your back" "I'm the Night Prowler Just outside your door Night Prowler - creeping 'cross the floor Night Prowler - make a mess of you Night Prowler - and there's nothin',nothin' you can do!"
This is kind of painful to watch, especially the "Patton" thing in the middle. Sarlatte's set is riddled with racist stuff that would be unacceptable today.
I was 13 years old and had a cassette tape of the new AC/DC album. It was a full moon and got the urge to sneak out of the house at midnight to visit a friend. Duct taped a big-ass cassette player to my bmx bike with a fresh set of D batteries. Off I went into the night with the wind in my hair, music blasting, dogs barking and neighborhood house lights turning on. For the next 3-4 hours felt like I was on top of the world. 🌑 🕛🚴♂🤘
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this video on ACDC 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on RU-vid. 😀
Oh yeah sure if ACDC never existed there would be no murders and violence yeah ok sureeeeee. And if people didnt celebrate the month of June then there would only be people attracted to who the C nationalists say they should marry. Yes im being a smrt arse to conservatives and i know tipper gore was a dem but all my friends mother upset about music back in the 80s were Conservatibes and some dems but not very many. Music or flags or whatever do not influence people. Also murderes are horrible people and people who love somewone are wonderful people and deserve equal rights and respect. People whether bad oir good arent groomed or influenced and there were serial killers long before Richard. STOP THE MISINFORMATION!
This is the only part of the storyline that seemed really implausible: What teenaged musician, who just joined a band whose single made #7 on the Hot 100, becoming the quickest-charting song ever on Play-Tone Records, is going to just ditch the band to join the Marines?
"Anti-Christ Devil's Child" What the actual F? The whole devil worship scare craze in the 80's was just bizarre. Too many bible beaters realizing that young people just didn't find the traditions compelling. In their eyes if you weren't a Christian you might as well worship the devil. Night Prowler is my favorite song on the album I think, and that's saying a lot because that album is so good. The blues guitar is just so awesome in that song. "And you don't feel the steel 'til it's hanging out your back!" Shazbot, nanu nanu.
The Beatles suffered the same problem with Helter Skelter Charles Manson and his cronies didn't even know what a Helter Skelter was as its a British corkscrew funfair slide not readily known in the US
Angus should've explained that the song was about snowdropping, which is the Australian slang term for stealing washed clothes from someone else's washing line, specifically women's underwear.
“Can he handle our tune”. FFS. It’s a 3 minutes 60s pop song with standard cadences and a baseline consisting 95% of root notes. Any beginner could play it. This song is to music what stick figures are to art.
This happend once to me in the band I was in we were auditioning drummers and the guy we gave the gig to showed up and the guitar player saw him from the widow and says to me "he's so old" , the old guy ended up auditioning us, luckily we passed lol😊
This always cracked me up. Session musicians can jump into any situation and pick right up seamlessly. "Can he handle our tune?" The response was such a nice takedown of Jimmy.
wikipedia keeps changing the wording en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Prowler_(song) Perhaps the album's most infamous song is "Night Prowler", mainly due to its association with serial killer Richard Ramírez. In June 1985, a highly publicised murder case began revolving around Ramirez, who was responsible for more than 15 brutal murders, as well as numerous rapes and attempted murders, in Los Angeles. Nicknamed the "Night Stalker", Ramírez was a fan of AC/DC, particularly "Night Prowler", and police claimed he left an AC/DC hat at one of the crime scenes. During the trial, Ramírez shouted "Hail Satan" and showed off a pentagram carved into his palm with the numbers 666 below it.[21] This brought extremely bad publicity to AC/DC, whose concerts and albums faced protests by parents in Los Angeles.[22] On the episode of VH1's Behind the Music about AC/DC, the band maintained that the song had been given a murderous connotation by Ramírez, but is actually about a boy sneaking into his girlfriend's bedroom at night while her parents are asleep, in spite of lyrics such as, "And you don't feel the steel, till it's hanging out your back".[23]
And, for me anyway, this is the only part of the plot that didn’t ring true. Not that musicians aren’t flaky, but TB Player was drawn to the discipline and honor of the Corps, and he would somehow bail on the big network tv date without so much as a phone call?!? I do love the comments here that think that Mr. White hired the Marines to facilitate his replacement.
