With the help of RU-vid we have created a place that consumers, both residential and commercial can access the information they need to keep their indoor environment looking and feeling clean, fresh and healthy. Subscribers to our channel get quick access to "how to" demonstrations which can save them time and money while also showing them how not to harm their own carpeting, upholstered furniture or Antique Oriental Rugs. Probably the most important aspect of a clean, well functioning home or office is the elimination of Allergy Triggers: Pollen, Dust Mites, Soot, Smoke and Pet Dander. In the Boston area we provide the services that our "chemically sensitive" customers require.
Take a look at our channel and let us know if you found it helpful.

How do i know if i have gotten it all up? I found stains using LED blacklight. If i have done this process correctly, should there not be a "spot" seen on blacklight? Thank you so much for assistance.
Best methods to check your work: 1. smell 2. Feel If the smell remains and the rug feels stiff you need to do it again. Black light can and usually does continue to show staining even after a successful urine treatment.
I vote if carpet gets installed for a water proof layer to be installed that won't ruin the subfloor .I think my carpet is probably ruined. No urine. Just super dirty.
We find using a steam machine with a carding brush helps. Some times the steam and brush can reset the knap....most likely it won't make them look perfect but might help. You can also bring them to a dry cleaner in your area....they may be able to reset the knap Good luck
Hello from Canada! YOu mention doing this treatment on "Persian style" rugs. All my rugs are quite valuable Oriental/Persian rugs and many are made with vegetable dyes. Are you able to confirm that washing with this particular type of product is safe for genuine Oriental rugs please?
Well, you missed a major point in your testing: The new Scotchgard is ONLY a water barrier, so any oil based stains may do much worse when compared to a solvent based protector.
We had a client give us some elk meat (frozen) after a job on Friday. My partner forgot and left the bag on the back floor... well, it thawed and bled into the carpet... it baked all weekend in the Louisiana heat... Now his new truck, 1 month old smells like Death. He's been cleaning it for 4 days straight and it's still horrible. Will this work for him?
Hi Very sorry to hear about this accident The process should work but might take several attempts First-use an extractor or a wet vac to thoroughly flush all the chemistry your partner added to the mix....get as much up as you can. Next apply the detergent and allow it to dwell 30 minutes. Rinse it thoroughly and then apply concentrated peroxide or OSR and allow it to try slowly. Repeat the process if necessary. Keep in mind that strong peroxides or concentrated OSR can remove color from the carpet....test in a hidden area first. The detergents and the peroxides MUST saturate all the effected areas...missing even a small area will leave it stinky Good luck
Don't hold with your hand on one side. It allows the loose side to push in and less time with liquids on it. Tie down both sides and throw from the middle.
Thank you so much for this comparison. My pup left some potty mistakes. OMG, I hope it isn't too late. I had so called great carpet cleaners. No. They pushed solution and the urine further in and not enough suction. Praying I can get some of that old smell out. It is unbearable. I would tell anyone with pets - Never get a carpet clearner. Thank you David - YOU ROCK!!
Hello! I have an unfinished needlepoint that I'm guessing is 100 years old - I believe it was started by my great grandmother. About half of the background is done. My problem is that the canvas is very fragile, I believe cotton jute. Is there anything I can do to make it strong enough to hold together while I'm stitching it?
Hi try adding some cotton backing material to the whole piece then continue to weave the design....you can apply the backing woth spray adhesive or stitch it into place...make sure to wash and dry the backing material prior to attaching
Great video! Thank you so much 😊. I’m guessing all this will work in vinyl planks? My elderly miniature chi weenie pees off the side of her pads while I’m at work and it’ll get trapped under there for long periods. So the smell is kinda stuck in the vinyl. I want it gone . I’m trying vinegar at the moment cuz many of the enzymes I’ve tried haven’t worked. But I’ve not tried the brand you mentioned. You remind me of my dear friend Bob . Love the accent 😊
Hi...thanks for watching the video If your dog pees on plank flooring removal will depend on what the bottom layers of the planks are made of. The top vinyl layer of course can simply be wiped up-urine won't penetrate it....but if the urine travels between the planks and the mid or bottom layer is made of wood or wood/glue composite the urine and any liquid you spray on it can damage those bottom layers. The best plank floors are vinyl throughout making them pretty much completely water safe. Hope this helps Gooid luck
Aw, man! I just sprayed a new chair and ottoman with Vectra before watching this and was so hoping it had great protection qualities. Now I’m not so sure.
My cat or dog (or both) have been peeing on a thick wool rug I have downstairs and I just noticed! I ordered a wet vac and 12% peroxide. Is 12% peroxide too strong for a wool rug? And if so, why? Thx :)
We recommend 3% peroxide max for wool fibers. Peroxide is an oxygen bleach and 12% might work for you because all wool reacts differently. start with 3% then dilute the 12% with water. If neither works enough for you then use the 12% . Also-12% is not the same as 12 volume......
Hi! I have just purchased a very old framed Chinese embroidery. It is behind , the glass panel. However, the framing matt and the board the silk embroidery was mounted are probably not acid free. They are brown...it is affecting the beautiful silk embroidery...what should I do?
I would reach out to two people in your location: 1. Someone who can clean the silk if necessary 2. Custom framer-remove & replace wooden/fiber/cardboard backing with synthetics to avoid pigments and soils from being transfered onto the silk. Good luck
My needlepoint is very large and appears to have age to it. There are some moth nibbles in various areas, though no large areas of that damage. I have some experience cleaning vintage textiles. However, I've not handled needlepoint items before. I would like to clean the needle point prior to restoring it. How do you recommend handling the areas of damage while cleaning the piece? Any advice on preventing further damage would be appreciated. Thank you!
Thanks, but why not wrap the rug in heavy duty craft paper? It world absorb moister as well and prevent insects from reaching the rug. Most rugs bieing stored inside, does one really need to spend on something waterproof?
Craft paper doesnt protect against some insects and small rodents...TYvek, not perfect but better protection Rugs can be moved around without tearing the cover. Large/full size rugs can be thrown around without tearing the Tyvek, esp when hiring a less than professional moving company.
Hi If you have no experience cleaning these please try a local dry cleaner or fabric cleaner in your area Giving you some tips on this platform would not do the uniform justice and if done wrong can make matters worse Nicotine is greasy and can be difficult to remove Be careful Good luck
...one more thought If you mount the uniform in a covered (glass) frame and it still has odor try putting silica gel packets behind the uniform, inside the frame which will reduce the moisture and help deaden the odor Good Luck
i have a problem. i have a fabric couch and it has light purple slime on it. very hard and has been there for about a year. its on top of the couch but not inside of it i don’t think
Hi...if the slime is extremely hard use hot water and allow the detergent to sit on the slime for longer. This should help to liquify it. repeat if nec. Good luck
