Hi there, my name is Daljit, apart from being a content creator, I am also a moderator on the SI forums helping people out with the training and tactics side of the game.
On this channel you will find guides for Football Manager that cover: Training, Tips and Tricks, Tactics. You will also find me releasing written guides for the game each year for every new game that is released. I also release views, schedules, shortlists.
The best place to start if you are new to the game is the 101 of Mastering Football Manager, which covers guides that are done in conjunction with the creators of the game Sports Interactive. Other saves include - Gamechanger - a series of shows that cover FM20, FM21 where I take a look at your saves and offer suggestions.
This year I livestream on Mondays, Weds and Fridays (1830hrs Singapore) covering Road to Glory challenges with Forest, Kasimpasa, Sporting Portugal and Dundee United. I also upload two guide videos each week.
I normally don’t comment on videos but this a an ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT one. Love all the way from Canada. And there’s something about your accent that makes you would like an old wise man 😅 - which you definitely are!
9:09 I think that's more like three CCC per game mate. This is the opposite of clickbait. Liked and subscribed 😡😂 I had a question about mentality if you don't mind enduring my rambling. I stumbled upon one of your FM23 videos ("What Does Mentality Do?") and thought it might be better to ask about it here on your most recent vid. I often hear on the SI forums that with higher team mentalities you should use more attacking duties, but I always thought more in line with your explanation that you should use more attacking duties on lower mentalities, in the same way you might want a higher mentality overall but use less "aggressive" instructions like less pressing or a lower tempo to offset the "negatives". If you're something of an underdog and want to use cautious to encourage counter attacks, is it sensible to use more attacking duties when you have a bottom heavy formation like a 532? Say both strikers on attack so they go at space, and maybe a fast RWB on attack too, or one of your strikers and a more attack-minded CM? I'm not sure how to do this in a balanced way that isn't overkill, letting me attack decently enough without compromising solidity. After promotion to L2 for the first time, my side is the "weakest squad in the league" and we are overperforming big time, and prevent far more goals than expected relative to pitch tilt, but our more defensive formations have a negative CCC+/- on average. My 442s are positive but I'm not convinced they're solid enough, ironically.
Staff responsibilities. I know this has nothing to do with this excellent video. Can you help. I have set staff duties as I want, yet whenever an offer comes in for a player I want to get rid off, my wishes are ignored, and I end up with unwanted players just running down their contracts.
I hope you or one of your many followers can help. Playing FM23, I have set my staff responsibilities regarding sales and loaning out of players to my duty, yet after setting fees and conditions, whenever an offer comes in, someone always rejects it. Consequently I am left with a group of players I can't get rid off, and they just run their contracts down. Thanks.
Which one do you think increase the ai being harder opponent and making your life harder, adding more playable leagues or adding more players to the database from different continents by custom? Any suggestion would be appreciated. What i did with my last save was to add 8 nations playable with 1st divisions and my league with 3 divisions and add continents players to database from custom around 120k players. Is this one more challenging or any other way to have more competitive ai. Thank you.
Yes you can play with IFs but if you are the type of player who always wants them to stay wide and opt to use the player instruction then use a winger on the flank OPP his preferred foot. In the case of Liverpool since TAA is playing like a false fullback under Slot you would want him to play as a winger since he almost always starts by hugging the line. So look at the other teams irl if your goal is to replicate. Some teams may be playing their plays in the halfspace so they will be inside forwards.
so basically trainings are useless except for player development. I thought fm is a very realistic game. No wonder why my players don't execute the patterns of plays I try to create
Patterns of play come from your choice of roles and duties and team instructions. Training improves the attributes of players. It’s been that way since training was a feature in the game and the developers have said as much. If you want your side to be a gegen pressing side then you will favour sessions that work on those attributes.
How would you go about getting players to switch the ball out wide like van Dijk & Trent do irl? I’ve been trying to get this to happen in my save with players who have the trait at full back & centre back, but with no success.
Bush, apart from tactics, do you know how to improve the squad with super low wage budget (as well as transfer budget), I have lifted to Championship and only gets around 80k wage budget per week, I am now trying to sign some youngsters released by Premier league clubs and I don't know what should I do after that. I am now near the relegation zone.
When you have a super low budget you typically have end up signing players who are on expiring contracts or expired contracts. You’re also actively trying to manage your own squad by not having too many players on long term contracts. If you are in the championship, chances are you will be able to get some decent loan signings too. Clubs who have let some players be available for loans will have their wages covered by the parent club. And, you can bring in up to 5 which is the best way to handle that.
Thanks for sharing. Great tactic. The tip about swapping wingers depending on opp FB is genius. Getting great results with my Blackburn team. Do you use any specific set piece routines?
A Short corner routine and a near post one. For short corners assign your best headers to attack far post. And for the Near post set your best headers to attack NP
I think, at least in this FM, that the Libero is a meta or at least very strong. It becomes even stronger when combined with a Half Back. I also think that the Libero is the REAL version of what many people believe the 'Ball Playing Defender' to be.
@@BusttheNet Well, I have a very strong tactic that combines 2 Liberos with 1 Half Back. Hahahaha I'm even surprised because for me it's extremely strong. I believe it must vary from squad to squad. I get my team (Torino) built only with Italians to reach 4th place in Serie A.
@@AllanFCL libero and half back leaves your dm area empty, nobody will win the ball, i would easily smash your tactic if u dont have people winning the ball.
Saw you on Zealand’s channel. Admittedly, it’s how I discovered most of the FM creators that I follow. You, sir, are who I go to to explain why my wingers can’t do wall passes for example. Binging this content.
How are you even playing attacking away from home! I really can't get to grips with 24 I use to play fm for hours now on 24 I play 4 or 5 games then come off. I can't tell what's happening in games anymore I feel like I'm playing man City every game
hi my man i always watching u and i have learnt a lot for tactics but i have a question.. can gambit be used by a team that is worst in a league for a rebuilt?
Someone did a test with ai managers to see if stats, team or formations were more important. Based on the limited results, formation i.e. the managers with the more meta tactical styles mattered most. Maxed out manager stats couldn't save a bad team. But a zero out manager stat manager with a good style, could save them from relegation.
I struggle to follow your videos, it just seems like a lot of clicking and half explanations. It appears as if you change roles and instructions on a whim and one thing I know about FM is that it doesn't like in match tweaks. I have recorded thousands of tests(hundreds on FM24) that shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is the case. The only way to achieve consistency is to use just one single tactic over and over again, which is ironic because the games creators tell you the exact opposite.
I genuinely believe that if you stick to one tactic for 2 or 3 seasons the game becomes easy mode and you win majority of your games 90% if not more. However.. I have also had success with a tactic where I set player roles for certain players but the core of the tactic stayed the same. I used these players and their roles sporadically maybe 25% of games.
Are Bring Your Tactics back? I'm perfecting a 5-2-3 that transitions into a 3-2-4-1 across multiple teams, and I really want to listen to ur advice! Where can I share my tactic with you?
The ME positional play ensures room is made in and around the box for narrow systems to work, and work very well. This is the part everyone seems to miss, the ME ability to "create" the space needed via judicious use of the player roles and duties..
With the ME favouring the higher tempo way of playing for quite some time now (I think), i’d love to see your tactical mind and experience go to work and make a short passing, lower tempo system great again 😁
This. This is the bilbao way. Strong as fuck youth academy and recruit from it. The benefit of this playstyle is that you can actually build the international team off your academy prospects. You can pick up for example fenerbaçe, focus on youth like there is no tomorrow. Comanage the turkish national team and actually challenge for cups.
I have noticed that most successful tactics are structured, high tempo and what not. I would like be able create tactics that is fluid to very fluid, nice measured tempo, defensively solid and still create a whole bunch of clear chances. How can you help in this regard. Thanks
