Stumble around this video today. What a great performance! THIS IS ART. Everybody can use a computer, MIDI and software... no real hard job. But to have these five people in sync... that´s great. Thanks!
Thanks! This was our first video of one of our earliest performances. I'm sure if we were to reperform this song today, we would play it better. Thanks for your comment!
Literally can’t decide if I like this rendition or the original more, rare to say that one. Absolutely love the sample set you used in context. Makes me feel like I’m on a huge, thriving forest on another planet, and something is lurking in the shadows.
Hey there. The sound source was a white noise generated by the sound module (the black box above, Behringer model D, a clone of a Moog Minimoog). I used the Beatstep (the other box with the lights pads) to trigger the sound repeatedly in 16th notes (every light signals a new "trigger"). Later during mixing I shaped the sound further during mixing with a tape echo and a decay automation to achieve that sense of space. I choose to do it that way because it sounded the best. It might be quite intimidating info at first, I know, but if you have a basic keyboard, maybe you can achieve a similar result by using a hand clap sound (usually part of a drum set), and feed that into lots of reverb or echo (if your keyboard has onboard effects), or play it and it with an arpeggiator. Cheers!
I hate covers. I really do. I do not care how good they are, i just hate all of them. Except this one. Singer should train her stage appearance but the voice is perfect. And as far ay i can see those crazyheads are playing live (as far as possible). Fuckin hell this is good stuff
Brinstar will always remain in my heart as gaming most beautiful place just because of the music. Nowadays when I play any game underground specially sci-fi, I play it by heart
In a way its a sad tune as my cousin & best friend are no longer here & that warm innocent childhood has since faded into nostalgic memories of a time gone by....
I always wanted to wear a power armor and explore the most exciting worlds that exist here and out in the stars; the underground. There is where things are amazing.
As an audio purist for videogame osts I've always felt that that the average super metroid soundtrack remake fails to capture the feel the original had. But this captures it perfectly!
I think that the SOR soundtrack for The Master System/Game Gear is awesome in its own right, there are several differences in relation to the Sega Genesis versions, even in the title track. Maybe one day I'll make a version based on the Master System. Cheers
