The comb is a normal scotch comb sold by many livestock supply companies such as Sullivan Supply or Weaver Supply. The clippers are a sheep shear head with a dull tipped goat blade to prevent cutting the animal. They can be purchased from these same companies.

In Europe this would certainly be considered animal cruelty and hence forbidden. I find this absolutely unnecessary, cruel, degrading and quite simply wrong and shameful!!!
Thomas you are absolutely correct. This and the many ways we use and exploit animals for our use IS cruel. These sentient beings aren't cared about, rather they are treated like commodities that strictly produce profit. The caption itself says it all "take precautions to prevent injury to themselves or their equipment." What about injury to the cow that your torching? Twisted shit right there.

Thank you texlea for bringing up the safety issues when handling liquid nitrogen. Proper handing includes safety goggles, cotton glove, and tweezers. There is a window when thawing the semen. According to the some articles, it is at least 30 seconds, and no more than 15 minutes on a .5mL straw of semen. I still prefer between 30-60 seconds in the warm water bath. .25mL straws require less time as you pointed out.
