It is always dependent on the end users internet connection. Mine is quite stable. The RCFORB interface has a side tone built in so there is no latency at the user's end to what they hear. I have people that use CW every day in it with no issues.
Thanks for the video. I just setup up RemoteHams (ORB) but can't get it to key my 7300 via CW. How about another video on the setup. Also it looks like its possible to use a key with the client but can't find documentation on how to do. 73 /John
If you go to the RemoteHams forums, there will be lots of information there that will help you. What works for my set up, will not for yours. Each rig has different requirements.
Thanks for this record, my signal its in 5:42:00 . In this contest I work with Kenwood TS-590S@100W linked dipole, solar panel and battery LifePO4 36amp/h. 73 Tony YV5RAB
Thanks. I have very low latency on my end generally. Less than .2 seconds. I use the sidetone on the client and not the radio so the latency doesn't affect that. That's why you don't hear what I'm sending as I stream from a second computer.
Old post I know, but how do you get CWTY to decode soundcard audio? Is it running on a different computer than the one running remotehams? I can't seem to get any input into mine running on the same computer. Mixer setting or something?
The audio is connected by two cables with built in blocking capacitors and a resistor pie network for attenuation and impedance matching. They go from the radio audio connections to the computer audio connections.
@@ve3pcp well yeah i am radio operator, BUT being QRT for about 30 years, so kinda catching up with everithing what come up in mean time LOL... But i like it
@@ve3pcp Hello again. I am still looking for help... I get CAT control cable for TS 850s, connected it to PC, but yet not making it work. FLRIG recognize device and controling TX, while Omnirig does NOT, even with same port and other settings. Looks like i can't use FLRIG for HDSDR or Log4OM, so i am not sure what else to try. I would appreciate very much if you can help, i just need to connect rig to sdr and logging software...
Great to hear the remote use of the TS870. Have you been able to use CW remotely, Rob? If so, do you have any advice please? I’d certainly like to do this with a key, straight or paddle, and not via keyboard. Thanks. Tim G4XWJ
Yes on CW. Same cable set up as with my TS-850. Only be keyboard. I haven't explored other options to use a key or paddles. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fl2ScHkJLtk.html
Thanks, Rob. I was hoping to use a key. If you do get going with a key on remote with the rig, it would be great to hear… and how you did it. I suspect there might be issues with latency and a suitable box to connect a key. 73. Tim :)
@@tim123527 I don't think I'll be looking at any other options. I'm happy with the way it works using the keyboard and macros. It works very well for contests. ru-vid.comkbFwWa4QNic?feature=share
Thanks for the nice DX QSO ....that was fun. Raisa, Eva and Yvette (and of course Rob) you're running an excellent "remote YL club"...keep up the good work, 73/88 de Jens, DL2RMM
That's a very good. My congratulations, Eva! I am very glad you are with us. 🥰. Rob, your idea YL Remoute and it implementation is perfect!!! Thanks a lot. 💗
Very good Video !! However, this MFJ-207 sounds _surprisingly_ clean... :D In many Cases, this little Thingy, actually sounds more like a "Buzzer", sort of... :D
I can hear the RX on the live stream but not via RF. I had trouble contacting a station in Sudbury this morning earlier on ONTARS. He had a very poor copy on me. I'm wondering if my antenna has been damaged by the wind during the storm.
@Rob Noakes VE3PCP no, I didn't get a chance to see the stream live, but I did have a look/listen later on!! 👍 I'm glad I was able to make the contact though. I've been licensed for 30+ years, I'm on 80 meters all the time, 40 and 17 occasionally but you were my 1st 20m contact! 😁
The abortionists seemed to be doing a good job. Taking down trees or just trimming trees is something I've done, so I appreciate the pro's. A good crew can make a dangerous complicated job look simple and easy just because they have the tools and experience to do it right.
