to see this endless, boundless friendship in full bloom makes it so hard to accept He is gone..His smiles..his face alight with pure joy brings tears to my eyes..and i just keep wondering why? His journey was mized with such tragic events with his loved ones losing their lives..and then Neil suffering his own impending death with class and dignity..the professor..may he rest in peace with his loved ones in all eternity..
Great to whatch the friendship and love in this band. Mr Peart was such a great drummer, composer, writer and just love his personality, precence, humor and laughter. R.I.P. Neil Peart.
And I will have the choo choo chicken fingers, with the honey mustard dipper. Sir....This is a 4 star Resteraunt. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought it was a 5. Then just bring me the dino nuggets and some potato springs. Sir?..... A Curly Fry.
Mad looking back and the whole funny chat about "watches and time" and Neil pulls a face when Alex says "I don't care about time" and then "Clockwork Angels" is written !!!
I've watched this video numerous times and still never tire of it. I'd give anything to be that wine waiter - imagine being to eavesdrop on that !! But yeah, Neil gone still leaves a mark - but as Roger Daltrey once said about Keith and John "Every time their music is played, their memory is echoed and they live again in the music, so they're immortal really"
When a friend at school gave me a cd of rush to listen to, it was a revelation. Their music was instant awesome. Visited some concerts of them in Rotterdam. Best band ever
I swear they are teenagers stuck in grown men's bodies. This video I'm my opinion depicts true friendship, it's sad that Neil has passed. But I always think of the quote "‘Tis Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.
I'm thinking, based on their apparent age, that this was when they got together after Neil lost his family and they were on hiatus for a year or 2, (at least). Then Neil remarried and relocated to California, and they decided to write new music, (vapor trails), and go back on tour. Please comment if I'm wrong, I'm curious as to when this took place. This would be around 2001 at the earliest, 2010 at the latest?
Just came across this video . These guys are the greatest. Neil laughing, Alex being his goofy self ,and Geddy being a little buzzed on wine. I absolutely love this band .❤ R.I.P Neil
Unequivocally my three favorite musicians of all time. If you look closely at Alex and Neil's lapels and Geddy's left shirt pocket you can see a small gold snowflake pin with a maple leaf inside. The fella's are all Officers of the Order Canada. " ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6wNNrMZsu3I.html ".
Geddy and Neil holding a drunk HILARIOUS Alex together.. That shit was FUNNY. 'Don't kill Pratt, it's not good for business!" Canadians...Rush, Kim Mitchell, Max Webster.. We in the USA (I'm in San Diego California) don't have this kind of comedy-light-hearted stuff. The Great White North, with Rush..we need that attitude down here!
Alex Lifeson..guitar virtiouso..prog rock star..guitar hero..and then we get this--after too much food and Geddy's wine--"Oh no..I think I just peed my pants!" LMAO!!!
I must have seen this a dozen times, I always smile because they are good memories, just like the first time I saw them on tour of the Hemisphere's in my home town of Manchester UK in 1979, as we were walking up to the arena the sign said Rush with guest Ma Baker, I think it was a joke or the X fell off the sign because in the days with no technology we say what you see, and me and my friends were thinking who the fuck is ma baker, some sort of hillbilly band, of course it was Max Webster and was an amazing gig, Xanadu played live in the 70's was just incredible.
lol Geddy Lee at the end, "Don't be surprised how boring we really are," as if that isn't the whole appeal. They make such weird inventive music but they are such normal decent guys with such an innocently goofy humor between them. That's how a lot of the best artists really are - at least from my perspective as someone whose favorite art form is literature. Most of the best writers I've read were homebodies with a weakness for puns. I imagine more rock stars - at least the ones who write their own music - are more like this than the public sees.
