I received present of a full set of knives with all the accessories in 1973. In 2020 I sent to Cutco 8 steak knives, a ladle, a spatula, and a chef knife. All were in great shape but the handles were in need of polishing. The ladle also rattled. I received new replacement items for all I sent with a note saying Cutco preferred replacement instead of refinishing for everything I sent. After 40 years. Who does that. Cutco did. Amazing company.
Love my Cutco. Had it for 23 years. Other high end knife companies will sharpen your knives but not replace them. Cutco is the only company that will replace a 30 year old knife. I’ve done extensive research and they will only sharpen. Sometimes knives are beyond their useful life and cannot be sharpened effectively.
Smothered in Chrome measured the TS22 XHP70.2 hitting 4300 lumens and then dropping quickly. Since Wurkkos,Sofirn, and Astrolux, are all made by Mateminco's plant, you can expect similar test results. Some models measure less than others compared to their companies claims. Now you want to knock them because their numbers don't match up exactly? Just buy the higher lumen models then. Cmon, with Olight,Nightcore, Fenix,Acebeam, and other's,they all cost twice as much or more!! I'll take the Wurkkos or Sofirn flashlights, claiming to be 4000 lumens or more, over the Olight or Nightcore flashlights, whose 2500 lumen models cost twice as much, anyday. Because at that price point, the Wurkkos,Sofirn, and Astrolux models, are still going to be brighter. I just ordered the Wurkkos TS22 XHP70.3 Hi for $35.00 shipped to the USA. I know it won't be 4500 lumens, but I can live with 4000 lumens, and a hi cri color. Do you think the Olight Seeker Pro,that probably measures an actual 4600 lumens,is worth the $100.00 it cost? How about the Nightcore EDC35, rated at 5000 lumens. It only reached 4231 lumens when tested.it's $90. The Wurkkos TS22 XHP70.2 matched that! Almost 1/3 the price.
This review only proves your misunderstanding between lumen vs candel and flood vs spot beam, and how does all that applies in different flashlights and their scenarios of application.
The Cutco knives are pricey and can compare with other high-end brands. But there's one thing I would say is the packaging looks cheap on the high quality. products products
Honestly i’m interested in the hunting knife in double d and even though its a cheap stamped 440a blade there’s just something about it that’s calling my name. If it were sold in a cheap section i don’t know if i would buy, but the sharpening and warranty on them make sense to me though for the price. I might pick one up this stampede
If tested with the battery it comes with, it won’t reach the 4500. It’s actually around 3000. With a better battery it does reach 4500 but it steps down fairly quick.
Seems as much as people want to hate them, they do customer service exceptionally and the knives seem to perform better than they should. My concern about the burn marks isn't the esthetics as much as it is the effects on the heat treatment of the edge. My mother in law has owned a set for decades and her knives always stay razor sharp even without her doing anything at all to them to hone the edge, for 440A at 56 HRC this should not be possible. Every few years her rep does comes by to sharpen them.
When I was a kid, about 5 or 6 years old, my parents bought a set of Cutco knives. I remember that the saleman cut a penny in half with the shears and I was impressed. They still have the knives and I'm 60 years old. They still look brand new. They've replaced only 1 knife, and my parent's knives are so old that they have a slightly different handle - non-faceted. They love those knives.
I charged it. I was expecting a longer throw. It is possible I got a dud I guess, but even then I wouldn't say this is a bad light IMHO. I have literally a couple hundred or so flashlights, and I have much better lights in this size and form factor, but I also paid a LOT more money for them! Sofirn is priced very reasonably. My son really liked this light a lot and I ended up giving this light to him. Thank you so much for watching my video and for the comment! It makes the whole filming process worth it for me!!!
