At the 2:36 mark, the woman is photographing a ravine. Decades ago, we'd take small hiking shovels and sifter trays - similar to those used for prospecting for gold - and at various 'plateau levels', we'd load a shoveful or two into those trays, then shake shake shake and often find Pecos Valley Diamonds - small, multi-colored quartz crystals - reds were iron rich, greens were copper, etc. We'd come out with a quart jar's worth. The further down, we'd find more minerals (gold!!! uh...or pyrite), but galena, feldspars, all kinds of wonderful gems. Of course, we found southern Colorado and most of New Mexico to be criss-crossed with small ravines full of gems. Or agates.
