Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a hand embroidery artist. I also run a needle craft blog focused mainly around hand embroidery and thread painting.
I created this channel to share what I’ve learned over the past 10+ years I’ve been stitching. I hope to inspire you, help you to learn embroidery, and also express yourself through creativity!

Im so glad to know this now i plan to embroider my jacket and now younger me feels silly i lost/threw away my tomato needle holder and tiny tomato not knowing it could sharpen my needle
I have found muslin to be inexpensive and easy to stitch on and holds up well. Also if you only have a cheap hoop just wrap the inner hoop with bias tape. Happy Stitching 😊 oh and don't be me, i used a vanishing marker and my design vanished before i finished it! Go with the water soluble 😅
I saw at the end where you gathered up the ends of the threads. I saw recently a picture of those thread ends in a clear christmas ball. I think it would be cool with like a years worth of threads put in one with the year somehow on the outside of it and put on a tree. Really liked this tutorial. The pansies came out really good. Liked that you drew directly on the fabric also.
Thank you for this! I literally Googled “Long Short Stitch for Dummies” because I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. Thanks for making it simple but adding little details to tie it all together!❤
I have been doing crewel embroidery for over 40 years. It's my favorite form of embroidery. My favorite yarn or thread, whichever you want to call it, is Appleton's. I really enjoy Jacobean-style reproduction embroidery. I would like to see more videos on this style. It is beautiful and I enjoy the history behind it. Thank you for your tutorials, I enjoy them.
For thinner fabrics it helps to double them up. Or you can bind the embroidery hoop with cotton twill tape. Another thing is to get a hoop that’s a little bit nicer than the bamboo or wood ones you get at the craft store. I like to get beechwood hoops, you can find them on Etsy or Amazon!
