Awesome to finally complete the movie evil warriors. Great figure but I wish he had his leg holster and laser. I'd have rather he had them than the extra open hands. He used his laser far more than his sword in the movie.
Skeletor and mer man for me. They re fantastic. Can't wait for evil lyn and fisto new eternia figures. I hope also in a good teela new eternia because don't like too much all her previous figures.

@@foreterniaofficial One for origins. Complete line so far except for the preorders that haven’t come in yet! About 20 feet long against one of my basements walls. Just finished the Snakemen 2 tier grass ground on 3 tables. It’s a constant work in progress 😆 i was def disappointed Mattel shelved the snake lair even though it’s a unpopular opinion
They look cool, but the non-cartoon figures are easily superior, especially Clawful. I love the Cartoon line, but these are a pass for me. That's not a complaint because I know these two Cartoon figures are simply what they are supposed to be: cartoon-accurate.
That is what has been so terrific with MOTU lately. From Mondo to the Vintage, CC and TOG Origins lines... to all the Masterverse sublines, there's something for everyone! 😀
We can use the manta ray from the eternia set for Vypor. I’m seeing people getting these but where did you get him if you don’t mind me asking? Great video by the way. 🎉

T-Train! Thanks my friend. And unfortunately I tried it on a Masterverse and a Classics figure and no success. You might be able to force stretch it on a Classics (risky) but the collar won't come down enough on the traps of a Masterverse to clip it. Looks like the New Eternia Figures got the lions share of the Budget whilst the Revolution figures got the scraps cause I've seen knock offs with better quality then that Man of War Figure.
Yeah, it sometimes seems that way doesn't it, but I am not sure how that all works. Just something to consider: It may be as simple as... figures made to look like cartoon animation models will always have cheaper looking designs because their look is cartoonish to begin with.
The best mer-man yet. And def the best fig in the wave by far. But terrible qc as always. Unacceptable for an adult collectible at this price point. Immediate return.
I would say is the $22 price point is on the low end these days... which is terrific because it makes MOTU collecting more accessible to more people! 🙂
You make a great point. It would be terrific if Mattel set up a customer service channel as helpful as Mondo... but I will still give it a try before I attempt some of the fixes myself.
Just pretend Merman has cataracts, he is getting pretty old! Sucks on those QC issues; I have been pretty lucky to date with my collection, which is most of the Masterverse figures, with just a handful of minor issues.
Cataracts? I shouldn't be laughing at that, but 😄. Yeah, this QC nightmare was a first for me. I never bought a wave before with so many issues. No fun!
I've always had a soft spot for Mer-Man. Especially with the 200X series. But I've never cared for any of Mer-Man's figures. But THIS Mer-Man is amazing! I have to get one!

Yeah, to save money I am going to try gluing the helmet to Man-Of-War's head and touch up Skeletor's face with some yellow paint... so I only have to re-buy two figures. And I hope the QC issues are not commonplace too. I need a version of that amazing Mer-Man with clear eyes! 😍
I do have Thunderpunch He-Man but missed doing a review on him (and Sy-Klone unfortunately!) I forget the reason why... but it may have been during the time I was awfully sick with covid.
awww you sound so happy and thrilled to have these figures aj, it's honestly so adorable 😭 and it's infectious ! seeing you get so excited about the figures makes me even more excited about getting mine 😊 and your positive energy is actually why you're specifically my number 1 MoTUBER, to quote mr. rogers "one of the greatest gifts you can give anybody is the gift of your honest self" you're always so genuine and we are all the better for it ♡ my favorite is NE battle armor skeletor (i agree that NE mer-man is an overall better figure but skeletor's my top pick because this girl has got to have her skeletors ! what more can i say ? lol) the open mouth/jaw with hinges is a such a fun little feature. i like the devious smile at 4:15 really gets me haha! but yeah, the weapons are a low point in this fig as they are simply recycled from NE barbarian skeletor, not that they are bad accessories, just this already fine figure could have been elevated to a great figure had he his own set of unique weapons. snake goddess teela is a beautiful concept but not so much in execution. the sculpt is fine and dandy and all. i really am happy with the snake spell thing (transparent green just makes my eyes happy) and iam wild for her snake dress, i've always thought long dresses are so beautiful, i love wearing them myself :3 so i love that look on teela. but i agree the paint is a tad smudgy and off kilter/not lined up with the mold and i do not like were the seam of the plastic is either. our newest addition of mer-man to the masterverse is a contender for top figure of 2024, for sure ! everything about this figure i like, the shiny finish of his paint, the way the yellow paint of the hands bleeds so effortlessly with the green paint of mer-man's arms and the armor. i LOVE the big, beautiful plastic eyes. reminds me of snout-spout's eyes and i always, ALWAYS appreciate mattel experimenting with new features for figures and giving each character something unique to their fig. i always enjoy having duncan included in a wave and with this duncan's color palette and helmet, he will stand out on my shelf against all of the other ducans. he just looks a little skinny, i think. like, it's in the neck and the shoulders, duncan has always had wider shoulders than that in cartoons. i'm not sure if mattel are using a different sclupt/mold for this figure or not but he just looks a little skinny to me. i do really dig the helmet tho, it reminds me of duncan from the CGI show. so that's a plus

I loved reading your figure opinions and don't blame you one bit for picking Skeletor as your favorite/favourite of the wave - he's awesome! And I appreciate the experimentation too in Mer-Man and hope Mattel continues to tread new ground with upcoming designs. (I just hope the blurry, scratchy, gluey eyes are an exception, not the rule!)
Feel sorry for those QC issues... 😑 And I agree, NE Mer-Man is the star of the wave as well as one of the best Masterverse figures of 2024. BA Skeletor is great as well. Don't care too much about the other figures... 😉
Yeah, *sigh*, thanks. To save money I think I am going to try gluing Duncan's helmet to the side of his head (it sounds funny as I say that 😄) and touch up Skeletor's face with a tiny brush. But that Mer-Man, oh yeah, I need to buy another one because I agree... where he stands at this moment... he is my #1 Masterverse figure of 2024 (previously held by Snout Spout! 🐘)
I admit I was a bit skeptical about the Mer-Man figure being a figure I'd like and would likely pass, but upon seeing this video and up close 👀 damn am I happy that my mind changed cause it looks better than how the promotional images showed the figure, love the glass eye effect and this is the part that had me skeptical at first, the colors, I didn't thought I'd like the yellow-lime coloring in the armor, but it makes sense and looks more lively.
Man, that Mer-man is the apex in the Masterverse line, I dare to say the face sculpt is perfect, the paint job is superb, the amalgamation of colors is simply beautiful, the eyes should have been transparent. Snake Sorceress Teela only needs a good custom paint job and she will be better, she's a babe here, Skeletor is excellent with the new buck, I will pass on Man of War, I love Man at arms and I have all the Mastervese and Revelation ones, this was only like 2 min on screen. So I will wait for the other figures.
Yeah. but the more budget the put towards the Merman figure the less they had for Teela and Duncan which is why they look so simplistic and shoddy. Ether that or he got some factory defects.
@@Fenris30 I think it was an isolate case, maybe... I saw another review here on RU-vid and the Mer-man eyes looked cloudy like the one presented here, I think Teela was just QC, I'm sorry to say this out loud; but Mastervese figures most of the time comes with QC issues, the paint and even feet. Most of my Mastervese are customized just for this issue. They are improving a lot but still you find quality issues from time to time. I have my Sorceress Teela (zoar) completely repainted and customized because the final product was nothing like the Teela from the show, the colors were dull and wrong.
Hi AJ (Man-at-work here). Those New Eternia figures look terrific! However, I wonder why we have so many iterations of the same characters, even within the same sub-line of Masterverse. We already had a viking Skeletor, for example, we had a couple of Mer-Man (though they were for Revelation) and that seems to be the direction that Beast Man will take as well. Though each newer variation is better than the previous one, I would like some room for really new stuff. About this snake Teela, I saw the several QC issues, but I also see the original design was good, the face expression is beautiful, and I don't have a Classics version of the Green Goddess, so this is going to be it. About Man-O-War, hmmm, just "meh" for me, it seems like the chin is missing there, kind of the same impression I had with Revolution Trap Jaw.
Man-at-work! You definitely raise a good point (although I am so thrilled with this Mer-Man. I had no idea how bad I needed him until I saw him. Wow!) But, I would guess... especially at retail... the big characters sell the most (especially when it comes to impulse buyers.) So it probably keeps Mattel recycling the "hits" so to speak on retail lines. Thankfully we still have a stream (albeit small) of Masterverse releases through Mattel Creations that are less headline characters. (I simply adore Snout Soout and can't wait for the Horde Trooper!) And you are so right, Teela is such a beautifully constructed figure. Even with all those QC issues, I still love her! Man-Of-War, he's definitely cool looking, but I must admit he's my least favorite of the four.
