I work for a communications District in Alabama and i just pulled a IC 765 and one of these IC 4KL systems out of a climate controlled basement where it sat unused for 26 years. The amp goes right into protection mode as soon as it keys up. There is almost no information on these anywhere. I would like to get it working if possible maybe you have some information on these systems or know where i can acquire some? Would hate to throw it all away seems to have almost no run time on it at all!

Me too. It’s very sensitive but tends to drift a bit compared to a modern receiver. Mines a 1967 build date and is missing the crystal calibrator.

Hi, excelent radio! I have SBE SB 34. I was given this radio some day. This was not working until I found schematic and manual service on the internet. Finally I fixed it. Problem was local first oscillator, crystal was changed. I have to test TX yet. Best regards, Facundo from Argentina!
