Hello, I have a question, I normally use OBS to make Streams on Twitch and I already have everything arranged, the overlay and things like that, if I change the resolution so that the video does not have those black stripes, it will move all my other scenes and I will have to arrange everything again later when returning to the original resolution? I am getting mono audio from iphone to mac while playing pubg. That is causing issues in identifying the location of enemies. Did anyone had same issue
I'm importing a clip from my Sony TRV340 into Mac with OBS, the audio seems fine but the video is very very choppy. more like a frame every 5-10seconds. Any idea what i could be doing wrong? PS i used MPEG-4 and H.264 for the video output settings/encoding, but I don't see 'CBR' rate control, i only see 'ABR' under H.264. Is that fine? 'CBR' shows up if change to 'x264' encoding format.
Had lots of problems connecting to my computer. I ended up playing the movies on my television and filming with my iPhone instead lol. Guess what it worked perfect.
Hi, If I travelled back to malaysia using my US passport and renounced my citizenship in Putrajaya, do I have to stay for 3-14 days to get the letter ? Once I submitted the paperworks in JPN, can I just leave malaysia using US passport without any problem ? ( I was told JPN will issued a receipt as proof) ? I can only stay in malaysia for 7 days. also You mentioned there is office of commissioner of oath inside the Putrajaya JPN building correct ? I was told by the Malaysia Consulate in New York, JPN can send the renunciation letter to the embassy in new york and the embassy will then contact me for pick up later on. Hey Kian, I would assume that if you came in with the US passport then you will be able to move in and out freely. You can also ask them to expedite the process when you submit the application imat Putrajaya. Yes there is a commissioner of oaths inside the office at Putrajaya. If you were to do it from an embassy I was told my their staff that it could take up to 6 months to receive your documents. Hope this helps.
I can not for the life of me get any audio from my footage. I watched so many videos and still no fix. My video displays fine but no audio reading. Any advice?
Hi @iamraphraph - yes it does, that’s one thing baffling me the most about it is that I know for sure the mic works as it plays from the camera. The output is a video/audio aux type of slot and i’m wandering if it needs a splitter?
The method should be the same, in which if you can get the mini USB to USB and plug it into the computer, it should read as a recording device on your capture program. But then again I have not personally used a video camera that only has a USB port for video out.
i have a problem where it only comes up with a blue screen and i can only hear audio. Do you know how to resolve this? When i go configure video on obs then to video recorder it says signal detected: 0 and Lines detected 0. Is this something wrong with my av cable?
@@imraphraph yes I did, followed everything in the video step by step but still not working. I’m thinking it might be the av cable so probably need to get a higher quality one
hey I'm having trouble, when I plug in my camera and set the source to AVUSB the playback doesn't work, there is no dark blue screen and wont show on obs, can anyone help?
Hi Raphael, will I still be able to renounce my malaysian citizenship at JPN if I do not have a malaysian IC and malaysian passport? Just to confirm I will have to book an appointment for going down to the JPN right?
Hey @@clownclown7709 from my understanding you will be required to surrender your IC and passport over and you will need to make an appointment. The rules may have changed as this was done a few years ago. But yes do have your passport and ic for submission.
@@clownclown7709 in that case give them a call and ask if you can renounce without the documents. Personally if I dont have those documents because maybe you lived overseas and never applied for them I would just leave it at that.

Use shielded cables, and record as best quality as you can for settings. Because the sound on the tape is the best its going to get as it degrades over time!
If you're a minority and renounce the Malaysian citizenship, the bumiputera wins. The religion, marriage and visa policies are meant to keep you out, not in. Which is why it's near impossible to get your Malaysian citizenship back. Also it's not nice to change the demographics in Australia from mostly white to Chinese. Pretty sure if that happens, they're gonna have resentment towards you.
Well Malaysia belongs to the Bumiputras and Malays. If Malaysia is going to be fixed, I believe only the Malays can save Malaysia right now. For myself I have to make a decision, and we only life one life so make the most of it. I don't intend to return to stay. The Western world is open, its a melting pot here in Australia. Resentment is everywhere no matter where you go, at least life here you are given close to an equal opportunity to make it.
@@imraphraph Western world isn't going to be open for long though. At any given moment it could change very quickly. People in western countries are getting restless with the idea foreigners refusing to assimilate to come to their country. Why not move to Taiwan, HK, Sg, or China? You're more safer with your own people than going to other people's countries.
@@potatoeskimos as a diaspora Chinese we are second class citizens everywhere. We don't really belong to China and any other place. Since when have western countries been restless with foreigners ? Western countries are democratic and migrants who became citizens now hold voting rights to change government policies. So what you have said isn't true. Life in Australia is much better in my opinion, better healthcare, better work life balance, cleaner air, stronger purchasing power. Why would I want to go to asia? But then again this is my opinion.
@@imraphraph What I find it hard to understand is why do you think countries populated by your own people is not a better place for you. I don't blame you for being opportunistic, I would move to a western country too, but then again Malays aren't exactly immigrating everywhere, and creating enclave in foreign countries. Malays are very much spread out. The problem here is, if your community are significant enough to vote for policies favouring them, then you're going against the locals, which does rings some bells ey..
@@potatoeskimos We all look through different lenses. It's really hard to explain but diaspora Chinese are never really accepted anywhere. You have to be Chinese in Malaysia to understand. Most Chinese love Malaysia but there are many reasons why they leave. It's too long for me to explain here. Perhaps speak to people who have moved abroad.
For mine it took a few weeks, including submitting the application to withdraw EPF. But at Putrajaya you can ask for it to be expedited. I have known other expats who did the expedited route. They can get it done within days after submission of documents.
@@SwitchOnARpg Did you switch the output to USB? Can you try to check by opening up QuickTime movie and click playback from video and see if it shows up? Switch the source to the USB.
This laptop is an absolute joke, a gaming laptop that is just too slim and has insufficient cooling, you need to have the fans blasting at vacumn cleaner levels to play litterally anythng
There are so many videos on this and once again there is no solution for capturing the video WITHOUT capturing the time stamp that shows automatically when playing the tape from the camcorder. With VHS-C you can use a tape adapter and avoid this by using your capture device from a VCR. But with hi8 and other cassettes that don't have a VHS adapter you basically have to find a camcorder that will display playback without all the screen info like the time stamp. Does anyone know of a hi8 camcorder that does this? Or any other solutions? No one on youtube or reddit is covering this
@imraphraph I have my laptop,the USB device that connects to the audio/video cord,and then I have the camcorder. Everything is plugged in. I can take the audio/video cords,put them in the TV and hear the audio perfectly. But when I plug them into the USB device in my laptop on the obs,I only get picture and no sound.
I've followed this video but not sure where I'm going wrong! The quality on the recorded mp4 is terrible even though it looks OK on the camcorder and the OBS screen. I also keep getting an encoding error - any ideas??
@imraphraph the error says "encoding overloaded! Consider turning down video settings or using a faster encoding preset". I've tried all the settings I have and doesn't seem to change anything. My version of obs isn't quite the same as yours though?

If you are still online, I am having a problem with my old beta machine. I have it connected with an rca video and one audio. I have elgado and ucec. When I connect it to my laptop it does not work. I cannot play the beta tape or record it to my laptop. I have done a bunch withmy vhs maching but it is not working with the beta. Does that mean my beta machine is no longer working. I cannot fix it.
Thank you for this Raphael - I managed to convert an old family tape with your method. I have one problem though and wondered if you have any advice, the audio recording has an echo throughout - do you know is that a setting I missed in OBS or an issue with the old tape?

Hi thank you for this video. I have tons of 8mm camcorder tapes. I am not sure how to find the wires to connect my camcorder to the laptop or tv. I live in the United States I looked on amazon and I am confused on what wires to order. Can you please help me?

Once you convert a VHS cassette to digital there can be lots of dead tape space that got converted. Those segments of converted video can be hard to find and not needed. PyVHS is a Python package that removes those unused tape spaces. PyPi and GitHub is where PyVHS is located. Say you converted a lot of videos and do not want to manually edit them then they can automatically be removed while you do something else.
The recording looks super choppy on your screen, did the final product look like that as well? Is it because of the USB device itself not being high quality, if so?
Hey there, from my experience if you are using a dedicated graphics card it is smooth as, but if you are going to do it on something like. MacBook I feel it became really choppy. I used the same USB device for both as a test.
