His ball handling skills and trickery were nothing short of remarkable. Hell, the Globetrotters tried to recruit him. He could play in any era. Just think about how it would have been if the 3 point line was available to him early. Whew, Scary. He left this world way too soon. To his benefit before he passed he was a man of God. It was the part that was missing in his life. Luckily he realized this and he was ready to go. RIP Pistol.
Hey 1avardac here’s the full Pistol Pete Maravich Celtics game vs the New Jersey Nets! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dLLyl8k8Yz0.htmlsi=3d7di-iKfGtQDaCa
Pete got his stuff from Earl the Pearl when he was at WSSU. Pete was in HS in Raleigh. When Earl came to Raleigh to play Shaw University, Pete was there watching. and taking note.
I don’t know if you even check your comments anymore. I just found a reel entitled “Panasonic Presents NBA 25 Years-The NBA Story” by Winik Films. I’m sure it’s ruined by now, but ours is 1-1/2 hours. Did you cut yours down? I’m so curious what was on our reel and how you got yours! I also have old time reels for The “NBA 1970 Championship Playoffs” and “NBA 1969 It’s Greatest Year.” Who knows if those are ruined too!! Thanks for posting this so I can now understand a little bit about what we have/had.
@@stephanieortiz7810 You could try and have it digitized, and if it works out, please upload it to your channel. Myself and many others would love to check it out, I'm sure. Cheers! 🙂
I'm seeing people in the comments here saying that they're glad Pete accepted a certain religion before he died, but if there's an afterlife, then surely even atheists would be doing just fine there as well. Also, there are some things that are important to us even if religion tries to be hypocritical about them and deny them to us.
I saw a G. I've seen it all. Dope describes my rhymes, making all you emcees cold drop like dimes. You know MCSC is back again, and battling me on the microphone is like committing a sin. Scott the Prophet MCSC the Prophet
Thanks for this! Btw, RIP to Bill Walton.. someone who always praised Maravich a lot. Also “funny” that out of all the VERY FEW known footage out there of Pistol Pete’s (full) games, there’s one full game from 1978 between Walton’s Blazers and Pete’s Jazz; and both suffered from injury(ies) around that time, that didn’t allow them to be the same ever again in their respective careers…
On June 22, 1947 God said "let there be a basketball god born" and "Pistol" Pete Maravich came into the world forever changing the game of basketball. RIP Pete.
it kind of sends chill up your spine to see this footage again I was a little kid when Pistol Pete and the Birdman played together for a little while....great memories, and I lived in MD at the time so I was waffling between the Bullets (Wizards) and Boston.
