Many years ago, I did the same trip but in reverse.....Destin to Tampa aboard a 36' Tartan. We ran into a storm front from the North so we had a downwind sail. Huge seas! Two of the four people on board got severely sea sick (including the captain) so it left two of us to sail throughout the night, by hand. The Loran antenna was washed overboard so it left us with no working navigation. I was able to dead reckon us to within 10 miles of Tampa. Fun trip!

Absolute joy to watch. Just a hunch he's on a low aspect kite and not as powered up as others there. That's one of the secrets , that and hundreds of hours kiting

I could watch this guy all day. It's magical. I love how he's not afraid to get wet. So I still can't figure out one trick... at 1:05 it looks like he's going around the kite when his lines are slack, but suddenly the kite is on the other side... wha?
@@nataliedavidson4389 Usually when he does around the world the kite stays flying, but here it appears that the kite is on the water, yet we can't see it. Is it just below our field of view?
