I've watched a number of these videos with the cats but do they ever say if the cats leave the property and don't return? How do they keep them in? I had a housecat before and he got out and ran away. Never saw him again. I just wondered how many of these cats might do the same because they aren't locked inside the house.
I'm not sure. There is a gate at the foot of the garden but from what I remember, the cats are free to come and go as they please. The cats are provided with plenty of food, so I doubt they want to leave!
Our cat is often in garden, fields and woods, but always comes home to eat and sleep on her favourite sofa. Our former cat did so for 19 years. Why should she run away, she knows, where its best for her.
Princess Taboo when we were in Key West 20 years ago there were cats & chickens everywhere! You’d see cats even in the restaurants with the outdoor patios. They weren’t afraid or anything they just roamed freely. They are just part of the uniqueness of Key West. However, if it were me I’d b a little more worried about them today with all the cruelty going on.
bchlovr ~ Yes exactly, I live in rural Louisiana and there are many feral cats, but I'm certain my cat, Frankie, that no one would take him. He'd fight you, LOL... But my neighbors cat run away also and never returned. He was also a housecat. I guess when they are out in rural areas their natural instincts will come in and they decide they don't like being shut up in someone's house. With my rescue cat now I NEVER LET HIM OUTSIDE..Lol. I'm too afraid he will run.
There are 56 Hemingway Home cats who are descendants of Snow Ball, Ernest’s first cat. They live in a fenced in property and are cared for by the wonderful staff. They stay in the property only. They have lots of spots and are the only ones allowed on the Hemingways’ historic furniture. 😽

The cat and the house are so perfect together! Love that house with the shutters! And the Hemingway cat with it's mittens is the perfect accessory to an amazing setting! <3 so amazing!!
