I played this when I was in high school over a decade ago. Had the trumpet part at 2:20. This was always one of my favorite songs in band to the point that I still remember the name more than a decade later lol
My middle school TRIED to play this for our advanced competition band, and it was horrible. We ended up ditching the song completely and going to a new song.
I'm part of the French Horn section in our band (which actually is only me and another French horn player) We Horns have to work pretty hard too, trying to stay in tune and follow the fast pace of the piece. I'm assuming my band might present this piece for one of our concerts coming up if we have one (Winter, Spring, etc)
Toquei numa banda marcial no Brasil.... Infelizmente o maestro era xoxo..... Não entendia da música..... Foi mal Wellington...... Mas tu era juvenil..... Que música top.... Infelizmente nós tocava errado.......
I played this in middle school, and it was one of the most amazing pieces we had ever played. I messed up going into the B section along with the other euphonium. It hurt doing that in front of two full bleachers of people. We also played Soaring with John Williams arr by Robert Smith, which was one of the most difficult songs I've ever played.
Ahhhh yes! So many great memories!! This piece takes me back to my hugh school symphonic concert band days! It was the finale of our Spring concert, and by far the best perfect of the entire night ending in a standing ovation!!! For some reason we all really loved this overture and hit every note!
