Sheesh! Did you ever get the door open? Is the problem resolved? I’m dealing with this on an ‘07 Focus (US model) and am wondering if I need to actually replace the reinforcement. To get the door open, on nice days, I leave the window open enough to reach inside or reach across from passenger side or via the rear driver’s side door.

@@jpst170 Yeah wicked mate. I’ve only had mine since April but I’ve had to do so much to it,just to get it to where it is. Still loads to do but I’m enjoying the project. Hello mate I'm not sure about a 1.6 but I'm certain 1 is made for the ST.... find out what gearbox the 1.6l diesel uses and then search for a short throw for that box rather than 1.6 diesel 🤓👍

The men at Ford who designed this door, and the rest of this car, are responsible for a ridiculous quantity of pain and suffering. These cars are fucking terrible to fix the little things on. The design philosophy is "You wanna mend it? Fuck you."
when I loosen those 4 screws, should I lower the car from the jack to its own weight and when it's down should I tighten or does the car have to be raised?

Hi Does the spring is supposed to do a full turn ? I opened my IMRC and found a lot of aluminum dust : the long leg of the spring has « eaten » the side of tbe casing… So when I turn on the car the little just keep turning and never lock
i had this problem on a mk 1 focus, and later bought a second one, it was fine for a year or so, and it got the problem too. front passenger door on both (same door as yours technically, the driver is on the left hand side)
I fixed mine by simply used ACdelco spray cleaner…liberally spray into the lock at door edge and into the gap on the handle and door, till you notice it drips from the lower door part. Same time lower the window and raise it up couple of times. Didn’t need to open nothing. Good luck folks and thank you still for your video and effort behind it.
