You know, there's a great big swath of the country that is sick of NYC's culture being forced on us. Probably not a good idea to tell potential customers that they're paying money to identify with something they can't stand.

I didn't know Vitamin Water was from New York, I will no longer buy it as I and so many others boycott anything from that corrupt state. Bragging about being from New York despite all the New York boycotts that have been going on isn't the best marketing idea.
You wouldn't like hanging out in NYC then. The commercial represents real people in real neighborhoods. I was taken aback at first when I saw the 2 girls bleeped out. But then I had to giggle and thought, "When I grew up in Manhattan, we ALL talked like that."
Only New Yorkers would think that being “New York” is a selling point to anywhere else in the country. {snort} Might as well slap a Yankees logo on it while you’re at it. Yeah. That’d sell. Not.
Because only New Yorker/New Yorkers have that pull to do so. Only those that have a chip on their shoulders against New Yorkers would have a problem with this. They’re trying to say the vitamin water gives you that high energy like New Yorkers have. Everyone knows New Yorkers possess this energy and vibe, it’s a good commercial.
Yes! Just saw this ad before a movie and wondered how out of touch are people pushing this ad, thinking that being from NY is a selling point? I think most of the people in the theater would have chosen their own bath water over something from NY. 🤣
