Brilliant! I don’t know why but I immediately thought of making that with a space between the ghosts and tree or pumpkin to make as a napkin holder to put on the table by Halloween party snacks. I guess you sparked some creativity in my mind! Thanks! 🎃
Great idea and video. You have a new subscriber. I may have to visit this for my channel. I kept thinking that I could cut out a surf board or sail board design. Just one question, as you're the one who makes these and I haven't yet, would it be easier to glue up the boards first then cut them out? Or is there a reason that you don't do that? You're the one with the experience on this one, that's why I'm asking. Cheers and God bless.
Thank you for watching, it’s really up to you to what you think would be easier, the reason I didn’t for this video was because I was showing you could get 2 products from the same slats but if I had glued them already together I wouldn’t be able to use the inside shark because I wouldn’t be able to get to some of the angles with a jigsaw in 1 run. If you weren’t interested in the 2 cut out I would glue the slats together first.
@@fromthepalletshed Thank you for taking the time to respond and with your explanation, I absolutely agree with how you made it. That's make perfect sense. I guess I didn't think of it from that perspective. Again, I'm not criticizing your method, I was asking for your experienced opinion. Thank you and God bless.
Really liked this something different from the usual pallet wood stuff. Agree that should stay bottle opener was wondering were you got the plans could I buy them of you? Peter
Nice project, I've made my templates and it's now on my build list, thank you! Out of interest have you tried wipe on poly as a finish over the char? I make my own wipe on poly these days and have been pretty impressed with it. I just use 50% white spirit and 50% polyurethane varnish (Matte, satin or gloss whichever you like but not water based of course!!) it's a really nice finish and dries super fast, builds up in layers as well if you want and you can adjust the mix to have more or less spirit or poly depending on the effect you want. I use it on vinegar wood stains at 50/50 and it really pops!
Thank you for watching, Yes I have in the past, I have also made my own. It works well on slight burning but didn’t for me on full gator char. I normally mix linseed oil in mine at an equal 1/3 mix.
Worth watching just for the joy on your face when revealing the pencil holder! 🤣🤣🤣 As for the inches to mm conversion... how about just adding one of those sticky-backed measures I see folk adding to table saw t-tracks etc etc? Just a thought, cheers 🍺
Glad I found your video as its helped me decide on getting a circular saw as opposed to a table saw. So many wood crafters use the latter in straightening edges, but I wasn't prepared to give up the space . Love your creative video... Thanks for posting !!🗜️🪚😊
Glad I could help! I do have a table saw and it would be easier to do some cuts as it has a fence but I do find myself pulling out the circular saw jig most the time. That looks amazing, out of interest how are you enlarging your pics i have tried rasterbator but when i enlarge a pic to router out the edges are all uneven with large pixels any help would be so helpful
Some off the stuff I’ve blown up does go pixelated but hasn’t affect my design. How detailed is your template? The smaller resolution your image is to start with the more pixelated it will be come.
