My fingerboard paint came out. Never mind that it is a cheap cello that sounds so good ❤ loved it dearly. And now the whiter parts don’t look so grimmy anymore. Thank you, sir.

I have changed my violin into dominant pro and have the violin maintenance by my violin Luther. He said the thickness of the dominant pro strings are significantly different from the general used strings. The A string is nearly the same or even thicker than the G string. My Luther has to carve and fill the gap onto the different string nut, and also move the bridge location to complete its set up. If you want to full use the dominant pro, u may need to have a different violin setting. Dominant pro strings are bright in tone, and I admitted that the E string is way too sharp and scratchy in sound..

@@kingsonicknick3926 I ended up having a new nut made for the strings too. In my case I was having difficulty with left hand pizzicato on low notes on the G string.

I really like having Dominant Pro strings on one of my violins. The lower tension gives a sense of being gut, while the intonation is completely stable. My other violin had similar problems as you described.

Mine wasn't so easy - there wasn't much space between the top and bottom of the legs - when I lengthened them the screw fell out - not difficult to put back but it was a slight worry how tight it felt. I used no 2 height thing. Thanks for the very helpful construction video. Revd BSA

Honestly, I wish they would just improve on the original dominants. The dominant pros to me sound too nasally.

I do put rosin on my strings as well. It creates the best grip between bow and string. Try it and let me know 😻

A quick background on why I am asking this... A few years ago I was in a metal band as a guitarist, when in actuality we needed a bassist. So I went out and purchased a bass. A fretless bass, on the insistence of the music store clerk. I hated it. Even though there were markers on the board indicating where I should place my fingers, the notes always seemed...off. I guess the proper term would flat or sharp, but I don't read music, so I could be wrong. My question is, how do you hit the right note on a violin, especially with it's size constraints and lack of frets? I'm always astounded how violin players play with dexterity and accuracy. Thanks in advance for your response.

If I may, the back discoloration is not because of the use but back in the days Carlo Antonio had many requests and not everyone was able to afford his violins. So he started making unfinished violins like this one :) it’s beautiful the way it is

57 here so elderly...😂. My son played for around 6 years in school (6th grade to graduation) and it looked fun but I never ventured into it as it was "his thing" he is now 29 and hasn't touched a violin in years so I bought a cheapo on Amazon and am doing pretty decent learning on my own getting some nice sounds out of my violin. 🎻 My son is actually coming for a visit tomorrow and he's excited to see if he has any muscle memory on the violin. 😊

That looks like my $90.00 Amazon violin but with only 1 bow and the bridge was set already. At first I was confused about it making zero sounds but I looked up how to set it up and followed the instructions: tighten bow, scratch up rosin with a fork or knife, apply rosin to bow, tune violin (and even take off a string to practice putting it back on incase of breakage) put shoulder rest on and you're off! Love your video I learned a lot! ❤🎻

@@hineraable 20 hours a week, if it was 20 a day no one would play. 😆 I'm not trying to get you to see it as only a hobby, I'm actually wondering why it has to be an all or nothing. If I may ask how old are you? I'm 57 and maybe I'm just trying to shoehorn your life into mine (which is very unfair). I get the feeling you really have a fire in your belly for violin and it would be a shame to not even give it a shot even if it takes years to get to your goal (going slow and steady but not whole hog). I'm thinking I'm harping on you so much because my husband just found out his childhood friend only has about a week left to live, he will be gone from this Earth at only 59 years of age. We only have so much time so if you do have that fire for violin maybe going slower than whole hog will get you there before you run out of time, everyone thinks they will do whatever they really want "when life isn't so busy" but you may never get that....We never know when our last day will be, eat up life while you can, do what you truly love! 😊

Adding a boxwood tailpiece and Kevlar tailgut won't nessasarily improve the tone of your instrument. I tryed an ebony end plug.on my instrument and It sounded worse than original. It all depends on compatability of the materials and proportion. I WOULD KEEP IT ORIGINAL AS PRACTICABLE IF YOU LOVE ITS SOUND ALREADY. NO SENCE OVER SEASONING OR OVER SPICING THE MEAL. DONT RUIN IT JUST TO SATISFY A WHIM. HOPE IVE BEEN HELPFUL.

So the company who make this product asked you to review this violin ? Did you get commission for every instrument you managed to sell as a result of this video ? You don’t mention this. There’s so much fawning over this instrument that I could tell immediately that this wasn’t an independent review. If this is all someone can afford to pay then fair enough, but any beginner looking to play seriously should rent a really good quality instrument if price is an issue. There is so much wrong with this one.

True that. If she was given the violin, this isn’t a review, it’s an ad. If it was on loan, that’s different.
