Very enjoyable watch this one. Unusual concentration of attack on that rear side of settlement forced some improvisation out of both attackers and defenders.
this was a fun battle. We were doing random wheel factions using 124+1 rules. No defender wall arty. Our plan as attackers was to use ardeii as a meatshield to go in and tank as much ammo as possible so the less armored but still very effective noble infantry and lusitani would fare better. There were some skill issues but we still played ok imo. Unfortunately we werent able to overcome the overwhelming faction disadvantage. We chose the back attack partly as a meme but also because it has some good locations to grind hoplites and is harder for defenders to dump lusitani and cimmeria.

1 of the attackers should had burned the gate with 2 slinger units without ammo.... So the defenders had to watch and defend annother point with somme units. units he couldend use elswhere. And I had the feeling the attackers where fighting to the wrong victory point ! They where fighting not towards the official victory point who is in fact verry close to that burned gate ! 2 att players shoul have taken the gate and 1 att players should had keep the defenders bussy on tne complete other side what would been still verry close to his allies . If you take that gate you so close to victory !!! Annyway Exciting game to watch .
interesting attacking factions guess wanted a challenge and great to see people change up the attacking strategy also their patience. defenders were good too and also patient. one of the better replays.
@@joeonitproductions I’m doing fine, but so far parts of the college town(not the campus) are either underwater or buried beneath a mudslide, and the nearby town of Asheville, NC is in ruins, with every road into it destroyed or severely damaged and swamped. We’re getting overwhelmed by historic flooding, and it would’ve been worse if they hadn’t drained the dam that is upriver of my college. But yeah we’re doing alright, despite everything that’s going on.
@@Victor83113 Worse than Noble Swords in everyway shape or form. Also in siege it is not that important to have good anti cav power. Sometime you see people bring Galatian Nobleman (aka a spear umit like the Noble Spear) because a faction like Galatia lacks a high tier unit and the general is either that or a cav. Getae however doesn't lack good high tier unit and already has decent anti cav power so Noble Spear is just pointless
Did it ever happen to everyone that during Campaign you take a castle, and while taking it, you take the gate, but the gate keeps firing at you? The archers inside were annoying, and I wanted to use my Caverly to get rid of them, but they couldn't get in because the gate won't let them in and kept firing at them,
@@joeonitproductions It sucks honestly. As rare as it is, I lost Praetorian Guard, Armored Legionary, Praetorian Calvary because of it. Of course, not mentioning the auxiliary archers I brought from the other side of the map lol
@@joeonitproductions if you want to be bold with your general take cav genral archer general is to much squishy and pike general is also really problomatic
I Hammered the like button because for the good comment and good presentation ! In my opinion a good spearunit is better than a pike unit on a open battlefield.
That was funny seeing you lose your sanity. Don't sleep on the ground to help avoid worms and if you get one deal with it quickly. The starting location should have a pool with fish in to help with your protein ( red symbol) which you can make needles with as well.
Honestly this wasn´t fun to watch.. Sorry for saying that but after the mass retreat of the defenders into the town center it became a mess. Btw. joe, the sound was a bit strange.
Thank you for your comment. Not all sieges are going to be fun. This one was, I feel, was one of the more educational replays I have had on the channel as of recent times.
