I disagree with Ashneer's assessment.... First we need to undetrstand the root cause of why this is happening - this is happening bcoz - 1) there was the history of colonialism, we know what happened to India then 2) Post colonialism the same "WHYTE PEOPLE", set up a system which continued to exploit the global south, benefitting the Western powers massively. 3) Our original education systems were replaced with WESTERN ones, our original Yogic Culture and education, was replaced with Western ones. Everything has been stacked against the global south, because the WEST controlled the Financial and economic systems of the planet. They also had the US Dollar as Reserve currency, which meant you have to buy OIL in US Dollar.

Indian education has a problem; it does not promote skill it promotes learning and mugging by books. A shift is necessary. People who wants to take academics and research as career they need to pursue knowledge which would require a lot of theory with practicals. For the rest we do not need to put pressure on kids to learn things which they do not have any interest on and is mostly unnecessary for work.

We need to stop making such a big fuss about language, math n science that we forget everything else! Human mind is so capable and everyone‘s talent n destiny so unique that we need to provide space for all of that in the education system! Our system should be focused of developing skills apart from the basic core education. Every kid should come out with at least 3 skills mastered by age 15 apart from being proficient in couple of languages, basic math n basic science. If they want to master more skills they can. Skills which can be converted into professions right away. Like they can be raring at the age of 15 that capable! All professions should be in the list of skill development. If they study further in to the subjects they can grow more in that field while also raring working hours. Why try to find small jobs here n there while studying? They should be able to work in their own skill set n field. Primary should be Montessori and u can find interests n skills right there n keep developing on them while carrying out the core education. Skills development needs to be the equally important of a goal! There will be devoted classrooms for each n mastery certification will be required to move up! Think about the industry this system alone devlops! Starting from the equipments needed in primary, to the no. Of skillful people needed for each skill education and the classroom, equipments, safety education! The no. Of jobs and skillful people it will develop!
Great job but now there is still one big job left on which the current people of Sikkim has ignored or forgotten. The glory does not last for ever but the history never dies. Bhandari ji got the Nepali language included in the 8th schedule great job. Chamlingji was CM for 25 years and did a lot of development. Another great job. Prem Sing Goleyji 😊😊 has also won the hearts of the people but so far no CM has retrieved the ancestral land part of which leased out to the British and now economic benefit that could uplift Sikkim has been benefitting Bangal illegally. The current CM of Sikkim if he is brave enough MUST Re-Unify those lands by reclaiming it with the Central Government. Anybody who succeeds will write their name in gold throughout the history.
Neta log (All party) unpadh hokr bhi crores ka turnover karte hai aur Educated and skilled youth of India is facing huge competition just to survive. To be brutally honest no government is improving Education system, companies demands skillful people but our education system is the one where we spend approx 16 years if life ( 12+4) just to become unemployed. Then what's the point of opening so much school and colleges even IIT's are lacking practical knowledge in Ug courses.
