The guy in the red headband, isnt playing in sync with the music, hes playing rock n roll beats, to soft jazz music.... Idk what hes doing! 😆 Threw a hissy fit about himself, idk who this guy is, but he defineyley doesnt know how to respect music, be a musician, or play the drums, idk what he was playing, but it wasnt following the melody.
I saw him and Ethan Farmer roasting each other years ago and the stuff Ronald was saying was way out of line. Attitude been like that for a long time now.
So this is what the world is come to. We are now reacting and diagnosing musicians on random gigs. Lol. We don’t know nothing about what’s going on in the background. What may have happened before the show. Let’s knock it off. Yes, if he has any issues with the guy that came on his stage to help there were more professional ways to handle this but y’all talking about him needing prayer and being emotionally unstable. And once one person says something, everyone just hops on the bandwagon. This is one of the greatest black drummers of our generation! He’s one of them. Many of the people that you hold to be the greatest in their field or one of the greatest in their field have had temper tantrums… the differences we haven’t been able to record it as much. Prince, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, Aretha Franklin, so so for all have stories of them not being the nicest people from time to time. The difference is it wasn’t documented as easily. No means putting him on their level, just using them as an example to make a point. Knock it off. If he never plays another gig with another band because he threw a temper tantrum, I will gladly play to see him and his brother Thundercat whenever they get together. This guy is a musical child prodigy. And I don’t have to like his attitude to close my eyes and listen to him play. Most of us will be blessed just to try out for some of the gigs he’s lost…. I’ll take it one step further. Most of us wouldn’t even be confident enough in our gifts to try out for the gigs that he’s lost. I’ll take it further, most of us would freeze up on the same stage that he’s on in this video. Iol! Also, the guy commenting on his video telling a story about Ronald Bruner having a Hollywood mentality and coming into a jam session and leaving after he played is so silly…. Maybe he has a Hollywood mentality because he’s from California! lol. A person coming to a jam session and leaving means nothing. He might’ve had something to do afterwards. It’s a jam session. But to say this video is giving you flashbacks like he was traumatized by Ronald Bruner showing up to a jam session, playing and leaving is crazy!!!!!!! we got to do better people
I drum teched a Jazz Festival and worked w Ronald setting his kit up. He def seemed to have the "Rock God" syndrome. The shit he's doing here is like punk rock behavior, and he's an asshole for trashing backline gear. He won't keep working if he keeps it up, there are WAY too many guys that shred.
Assuming we have all the information needed to judge someone’s actions is both arrogant and pretentious. It’s important to remember that without full context, we risk making unfair and potentially harmful conclusions about a person.
This video doesn’t provide enough context to understand why Ronald Bruner Jr. acted the way he did. It’s not fair to make assumptions about his character, potential issues with drinking, or whether he has strayed from his faith without having all the facts.

Ronald Bruner Jr comes from a Christian upbringing, I can't understand how people raised by wonderful parents and who attended Baptist, Luther, Orthodox, Evangelical churches can be like this these days.

He has something up. I would guess there was a conversation prior where he took offense and intentionally sabotaged the set. Bi-Polar type behavior can be remedied . Musicians can tend to be pretty deep, emotionally and tend to be Insecure but with huge Egos when good stuff is flowing. . I have had some harsh shit playing in Europe with a band I was hired as multi-instrumentalist and a member without the same salary as the original guys. The singer had no problem yelling at me onstage and I took it. Egos , they can destroy that unity we love as band mates . I thought there was an actual confrontation but him grinning to percussionist says it all; he was being a little brat.
TBH, some of your favorite legendary musicians have done worse than this on stage. Not to excuse what's happening in this video, but I guess there's definitely a cause for this effect. 😅

It's his arrogance for me. This is why I don't deal with alot of drummers. The more skill they feel they have the more the arrogance they give. Being humble doesn't mean you are downplaying yourself.
hes not on Drugs or hasnt been drinking… because hes killing it… on point, he was mad since the beginning, and the problem might be with the guy who tried to fix his drumset, thats it
