To me this song is what it means to celebrate new zealands multiculture. Shared language, not one above the other but both of value. Ive always enjoy Poi E and stan walkers Aotearoa but this one is the perfect blend i feel. Can enjoy and sing all the words even if i dont understand all the maori words (i do know many though).
Whangaparaoa , just pass waihau bay where the movie boy was filmed. Taika waititi is also from Raukokore which is 5 minutes drive from whangaparaoa and maisey Rika is from omaio up the road. The iwi down here is the mighty te whanau a apanui 🤙🤙
