My name is Dom, I do kit reviews & UK based mini adventures. I am a Father of four (one recently deceased June 2021) who loves being outside. Wild Camping, walks, sup paddle boarding, snorkelling, short hikes and visiting 🇬🇧 hidden gems. When I'm not working (Safeguarding Lead in a Primary School) or looking after my 3 girls, I'm out doing something awesome with awesome people or just going it alone while I work through my grief as healthily as I can. I started this channel to record for myself and my family but my late son asked me to turn it into a 'real' channel and try and make it big. Soon after he helped me set it up, he suddenly died (aged 17) & it’s been a real comfort to me watching the channel grow and knowing that he set me on this path of adventure, it gets me outside doing healthy things & meeting awesome people. If you'd like to subscribe then that's great.
I'm open to doing collaboration videos with similar channels, send me a message.
I really wanted to do this, but when i went for my birthday, everything was shut 😂 stayed in a log cabin for a week nearby, and decided on the Thurs (i think it was the Thursday anyway) to go to zipworld for the day,and it was shut.something about they were closed on certain days of the week during winter months. Definitely going to try again next year
@@TheOptimisticAdventurer I know about Blackfoot 130. But I would not say that there is any problem with paddling a big one solo. The only inconvenience that if I place the seat in the center all rod and camera holders are not reachable. If I leave the seat in the back, as it placed when paddling in tandem, I worry that it's inefficient.
We did the castle, had fish and chips, found the best bakery ever and had a great day. Will be back next year. Not done the great Orme, how many miles?
So lovely and great video, I am in St Austell awaiting a new E Bike which I intend to use to Bike pack around the Cornish coast line, I'm going to try and find that beach, it must be on the west coast because you were facing the sunset, maybe I will see you and the fish gangsters there one day.
@TheOptimisticAdventurer I noticed you are doing camping trips, and you take equipment on board. The more room, the better. I counturary would like to have a few hours small trips allone or with my wife. Maybe I need to go the same way you have gone ,)
My last question for you. Being almost convinced of buying the chelan vessel, I got to your review of spinera. I have got an interesting offer for tenaya. Do you think the quality and durability of these two products are similar ?
It’s not toxic, Travis filmed the video for “why does it always rain on me?” there 😂 That sign has been hand made by a local/farmer to deter people from “wild swimming” after seeing it online
I think you’re exactly right. I got so many many messages after this trip, people moaning about me swimming in the water. One lady even told me I was going to die!
@@TheOptimisticAdventurer 😂 my dogs have been in there a few times over the rusts and they’re still very much here 🤷🏻♂️ you live in Cornwall mate? Or just visit a lot? Had a scroll through a few of your vids it looks familiar..
I remember I did it at night last year in the Halloween event it was so fun but so scary but it was my first time going on it even though I’ve been there before it’s just so expensive
@@TheOptimisticAdventurer leave your sleeping bag in bivvy. Just put hoop in oex bivvy and jump/shuffle down i dont peg if its not so windy. Kind regards and thank you for video.
That’s crazy, possibly true. Something strange I’ve noticed about this video is the frequency of people with horse themed usernames commenting, no idea why…but all comments are very welcome.
Thanks for review. Love that spot, wish I were closer to H****! OEX has produced some good stuff over the years. Eg, not light, but their Bandicoot II remains a good, sturdy tent better featured than much dearer brands.
