Watched David's vid so this was a double dose of outstanding Colorado backcountry. Thanks for retracing some of my backroad adventures and reminding of all the great scenery I took in along Stony Pass, Cinnamon Pass and Tin Cup Pass roads with my FJC. A footnote fwiw, I've got a small BougeRV fridge I keep in the back of the FJC, it's plugged into a 1000W Jackery, and the Jackery charges from the FJC. That way the Jackery stays fully charged and runs the fridge when I'm stopped overnight or at camp. I can typically sit still for about 2&1/2 - 4 days without having to recharge the Jackery dedpending on the temps. Looking forward to checking some of your other vids. New sub👍
Thanks so much for coming over! That is definitely some of the most scenic parts of the country I have seen. That is a great tip. I did try to do that, but I need a car charging cable, lol. It is definitely noted for next time. Thanks for the great comment! FJ's are awesome!
@@All_Things_Out_Doors Headed to Colorado in late September for a few weeks and your vid is definitely helping me get stoked for the road trip. Had a few "false starts" with the fridge/jackery combination but finally figured it out. And about the FJC, you oughta see my '77 FJ40 Landcruiser...
Saw your recent answer to a similar question earlier (about how it is faring so far). My new question is do you have a link to the grease-gun or “system” you use to lube the joints? Thanks! 🙏🏼
@@patricklim1384 Sure!! Something like this would work Bravex Heavy Duty Professional Pistol Grip Grease Gun 6000 PSI - 18 inch Flex Hose … a.co/d/5nMK9B2
@@All_Things_Out_Doors appreciate that! My concern with the UCA is more of how its treated you off road I guess."droop angle" at full extension and any "weird noises". So many BIG brands that are $1,000 + USD and so hard to justify spending that kind of dough if this works great. The install looks SUPER easy too.
The winch isnt bad, mounting it this low means you will have to reach into the mud to get the hook. You can pre-stage it every time you go offroad but it can make knots in your synthetic line. I may end up doing it this way if i cant find a bumper that allows the lux and electronics pkg. Most bumpers do not and acc relocation is hit or miss.
The lift I've got is 3 inches. Been wheeling it for a while now. It's not stock, but CVs are holding up great. I definitely would recommend the ICON lift so you don't over extend the CVs. Nothing beats commonsense on trail, though. lol :-)
@velocity800 holding up great... I maintain them every oil change (probably overkill). I've done a couple hundred miles on the Daniel Boone byway and am currently in Colorado. No strange noises and drives well on the road and off the road.
I love them! The only negative is I may loose a very little bit of clearance as compared to a more streamlined slider. It's worth it for the door protection also. My latest video in Colorado I just put up shows they took some hits lol
@@All_Things_Out_Doors I ended up buying them based on a recommendation from a fellow Bronco owner here in Colorado. I can't wait to get them. There is a 20- 30 day lead time.
if you find the alligator clip battery cables to be annoying, as I did, you can run a "permanent" Anderson connector from your battery to a hidden spot in/behind your bumper and change the compressor alligator clip ends to an Anderson connector. I did this for my FJ Cruiser and really like it. I can send some pics if you want.
Really well! No issues at all. I have heard some people need to go back and retorque them. But mine have held up well. I have made a habit of servicing them when I rotate tires. Worked well!
@@All_Things_Out_Doorsyea I’m going to install some 5100 bilsteins and I want to put the max lift so I saw these for a decent price and was wondering if they are halfway decent
Ya, they do well! Good choice on the 5100s, a lot of positive feedback on them. I've been looking at new Bilstein and also the Eibach pro truck coilovers. There are lots of good choices out there!
