My sister bought a brand new 1976 B100 Tradesman that she did a semi-conversion. When she was done with it she gave it to my parents. It was in the family for 23 years and had an untimely ending. The van had only 100,000 miles on it when someone ran a red light and sheered the front end off it. It had no rust. The van was a beast to drive; three on the tree with no power steering.
Problem with side pipes on a long trip mine used to get hot if you bumped your leg against it it would burn your ankle I unhooked mine after a short time and put turbo mufflers
I had the same pipes on my '75 Dodge. The driver's side sits out further than the passenger side. None of my passengers ever got burned, but I sure as hell did.
