I bought this album one year after it was released, back in 1991, and I was shocked by both the brutality of its live sound and the special arrangements the members of the band made for the tunes. Faith No More set the standard in the 90s, just for the fact of becoming a band whose lineup was comprised by outstanding musicians who were truly professional. And their distinguished level of professional was the main factor that made them something themselves for a name during the end of the last millennium.
I was curious to see how many shows FNM played in 1990, because Epic came out in January and they skyrocketed up the charts and record companies in those days would keep bands out on the road until they dropped. They played 226 shows that year.
Mike Patton is so fucking awesome. It's hard to think if another frontman/ vocalist that is even close to him. I'm a fan since 1991 when I first discovered him.
Mike Patton: "Tony Kiedis stole my goofy schtick including wacky facial expressions!" Tony Keidis: "Mike Patton stole my goofy schtick including wacky facial expressions!".
Got to see FNM play in the basement of a club in Oklahoma City when Epic was just starting to get played in heavy rotation on MTV and it was one of the most amazing concerts that I've ever been to!
