u go mobility has recently started deploying their marrickville depot b12 c60s on the southwestlink link service now. with most of them having their bodies wrapped in the first southwestlink lively. they operate alongside their ex CDC region 4 northmead b7rle cr228l units, that was transferred to u go for southwestlink replacement shuttle work along the former t3 line. which operates 24 hours a day every week. that would be for 12 months for the whole year or so going forward. they have a lot of swl buses on service to keep up with demand.
I hope the SWL buses aren’t too chaotic for the next 12 months. U-Go Marrickville does have some ex-STA and ex-CDC buses in their depot to operate the SW2 route. They even wrapped some of their buses with the station link livery between Sep 2018 and June 2019 where they used some of their buses from Transdev NSW and Hillsbus.
oh wow. that's nice. my operator transit system's region 3 has the southwestlink BCI buses too but is diesel version and brand new. that has my regions hoxton park depot accreditations on them. as their bound to be running In my region in the future once southwestlink had wrapped up. they will be part of hoxton park fleet. plus my region Smithfield depot has got the Custom denning element 1 and 2. the element 2 had run on the 804 there in my region. the baylink shuttle had a yutong aswell that I rode on two times. it's so nice they have electrics.
these sets have seats quite adjusted to the windows which from the millenium train. they have only a Normal standard seats that's a bit lower to the window. but these seats here are very exact same like the ones onboard the nsw trainlink endeavour set. it's a well made design to suit the rollingstock that's for passenger comfort. the t sets however had their own refurbishment with seat fabrics similar to these were added. with some having flip over seats and some others just being the same seats but had just replaced the original seat fabrics and replaced it with a new millenium and Oscar seat fabric style design. as some of the fleet had non flip over seating. but other will mostly have them. with freshly refurbished yellow poles.
I think they've put the Tangara's back into these lines. I always see them around again. For years though, they were a very rare sight to see ever since they changed it from "CityRail" to "Sydney Trains" back in 2013 and removed them from doing these lines.
they were a common occurrence. on the T8 and T2 lines. given that drivers were trained to run on these lines. with their rostering often been shifted to run on The T3/T2 & T8.
these were built by UGL Rail in Broadsmeadow for cityrail, now owned By Nsw trainlink. the design was taken from the successful millenium set model concept. being more altered for intercity services having onboard toilets & different seatings which is quite a newer type like onboard the endeavour set. with this sets operating on both suburban & intercity services. these carriages were now designated as a quiet carriage that does not allow any such loud noises such as music & any other form of loud sound to keep the minimum volume low. & conversations to a minimum. that this was to ensure that the carriages was compliant & making the pleasant journey safe for other passengers onboard making the journey times a smoother quieter ride at all times.
this is the altered CB60 design of the standard unit that was taken onto the development of The B12BLE CB60 Articulated units that was designed for use on the high frequency routes as these units can accommodate an amount of passengers during morning and afternoon peak.
@@EOAL6689 These buses can definitely accommodate more people than the standard rigid buses and the STA did made a good choice to order these bendy buses. On the other hand, the B12BLEA Euro 5 Volgren bendy buses can cater much more people than the Custom Coaches bendy which is why Waverley depot replaced the Customer a coaches bendy with the Volgren to cater more people on more high capacity routes especially the 333. I think the Custom coaches bendy can only accommodate up to 88 people whereas the Volgren can accommodate about 115 people onboard.
Hop On Only (Jump On Only) Includes Normal Buses (Non Single Buses) for Normal Weekdays and Weekends Returns (Back to Normal) then School Holidays before All the Passengers Kids gets taken
these sets will be allocated to suburban services very soon possibly on The T4 line. once the nif sets completed their testing while the deployment date is not known yet, as they will just still continue series of testing up until these nif sets are ready for the deployment on the blue mountains and central coast lines. its really important that the rail testing team that runs these test, does make sure they test all the safety systems/breaking & technology on board these newer sets, so that its safe for passenger service up until they enter service at some point into this year or next year. as the h sets will become a suburban set.
@@EOAL6689 I agree and I hope they don’t remove the bathrooms on the H Set trains when they change these trains to the suburban type like what they did to the G set trains. They could also place these type of trains on the T1 & T9 train line.
@@travelexplorer774 normally they would have to remove the toilets on these h sets as they were only served to be used on the intercity services. for long distance service. with travellers travelling to the central coast & blue mountains.
these models had an amount of extensive life running alongside the 0500LE CNG/citaro CNG & oranas. being in STA' s fleet as the 3 special Gen CNG & gas powered CB60 units that was commissioned a long decade ago.
@@EOAL6689 I agree and it’s a waste when the STA/TSA retired all their 300 (with 1 being preserved which is 2000 ST) Custom Coaches Citaro buses and a few O500LE CNG Buses being deregistered like bus 1973 ST and 1992 ST.
@@travelexplorer774 u go mobility aparently now currently house their ex sta b12ble cb60 evo 2 units at the marrickville depot for use on stationlink service. including some rare CDC region 4 B7RLE Cr228l transfers to u go also now based at their marrickville depot alongside the b12s. making up for their stationlink fleet.
keolis downer in Newcastle has these B12BLE CB60 units too. but with a difference aswell. with theirs not having an onboard cctv monitor like ours on the Sydney units. they were outer metropolitan outside of Sydney. being once another head operator in Newcastle ran by StA, under the Newcastle buses brand. these units didn't come equipped with the cctv monitor. like our city in Sydney does.
I agree and I don’t know why the STA Newcastle units don’t have the CCTV monitor on their buses whereas, the STA units mostly have CCTV Monitors on it. The B12BLE Euro 3 buses in Newcastle are only the 1st & 2nd batches.
this used to be a brand new build for transit systems as it's region 6 units got a PID display screen onboard to displaying the following stops along the route. but currently of course transit systems had not put them in use yet. as they been working just displaying the Transit systems logo but not fully displaying any route stops. so it's currently not in active mode right now as it turns out. definetly still new, but instead may have use for it in the future. or either transit systems just keeps it as it is. I have no doubt that these optimus buses have good quality built body & features & interior is still looking good. it's the same model that CDC blue mountains transit had received this year.
I wonder what Transit Systems are doing with the screen displaying the logo on some of their non ex-STA buses. It will be good if it shows what stops are there.
i remember it was on the last video, that I said these had adopted the window design of the B7R cr228l units. as they yes are similarity unit to region 1 versions. they dont built these types of models anymore as they were for STA & Busways fleet.
@@travelexplorer774yep.& it's very rare too that some region 1 optimus units was temporarily transferred to region 7 operating some shifts, due to driver shortages. there was some MAN's/volvo & scania units to ever be used on region 7 routes. it's the biggest rarest region 1 to region 7 transference to happen this year due to driver shortages. I did see some region 1 units operating in region 7 temporarily for a while. but good to take photos of this rare phenomenon in western Sydney. while it maybe to last for a while or lot longer, just until the operator has trained a lot more new drivers in the region.
these do resemble the ex transdev B12BLE version volgren units that my regions have at the hoxton park depot that was transferred from south Granville. it's definitely non two seaters at the front on the usual STA Built vehicles as sta has stayed the usual standard from having two style seaters at the front. as they were once government run bus operator in greater Sydney.
this CB60 unit was equipped with A B12BLE series engine from volvo. that Sta had strongly went for, onto their CB60 Models. but unlike CDC CB60 version. they chose more of a early version instead of the B12BLE ones in their Volvo series. that they felt its much better & cheap efficient for B10BLE being a suitable Engine that is more suited to their needs on their model.
there's definitely some good remininse of STA seat fabrics still attached on the seatings of this busways unit. because it's interesting. like region 1 their fleet had light great seating. & they refurbished some of former westbus scania units with their light grey seating fabrics. but with region 7 fleet. theirs did not change.
Hop On Only (Jump On Only) Includes Normal Buses for Normal Weekdays and Weekends Returns (Back to Normal) Not School Holidays Session before All the Passengers Kids gets taken then I’ll be Onboard Ride Sleeping and Spitting to Parramatta
this articulated version is based on the standard model. they have the gangway in middle just like the urbos lightrail. to allow the passengers access the back end body. my region got transferred one in the past that has with the uplifted roof ontop that was once a red metrobus unit.
Nice and these articulated buses were ordered to increase the capacity at other parts of the bus network. You’re lucky to have one Volvo B12BLEA CB60 bus in your area to increase passengers onboard.
UPDATE 7/8/2024: From tomorrow onwards, this bus route will be operated by Busways Region 1 instead of Busways North West from R7. I still have a video that I’ve made onboard the 545 and the bus rego is m/o 1651. If I get a chance to go on the 545 again, I will make another video of any buses from R1. Lets hope Busways Ryde doesn’t transfer some of their allocations to Glendenning just to operate the route. Glendenning depot currently has 143 buses while Ryde has 275 buses.
There’s only a handful of these buses as Busways withdrawn one CNG bus due to a fire damage and Transdev John Holland withdrawn 2 CNG Buses. One from accident damage and one got deregistered.
@@travelexplorer774 yeah i think because at the time, that STA had chose really specifically of what they wanted as their body design for the optimus & windows on their order.
