Yeah I can make another updated tutorial. I’m coming back to making tutorials next month. I’ll try to do a better job explaining why I do things in the video too.
Hi, my (Widget)skinmenu to (gameinstance)skincharacter would only work if i replicated the skincharacter variable in my gameinstance, maybe since widgets are clients, using UE 5.3.2
Okay but then when you look down and shoot it won't be center. Bullet holes will be in a circle when you rotate your char, instead of just one center bullet hole. Small price to pay for a smaller capsule? Or is there a better solution
In my case it says the following modules are missing or built with different engine version: "mygame". Not idea how to fix it, followed each and every step on your video.
I didn't know you can use Unreal on macbook. I'm hopping to get M4 Pro. How much RAM and storage you suggest. I didn't think I could use Unreal on laptop especially on MBP. Everybody was suggesting Windows desktop or laptop. They say I could get better with same price instead of M3. Is CPU and GPU important for game dev or should I upgrade RAM, when you compare max and pro
you pretty much want everything as high as you can, but it depends on what you want to do with it. Epic Games suggest 128GB of RAM. You can get stuff done with 32 but if you can go higher you probably should. 64 should be pretty capable for a lot of things you wanna do. If he uses an M3 Pro and can get this scene done, an M4 pro should be enough CPU and GPU wise. Let‘‘s hope more people run Unreal Engine Tests on Macs so we can have more stats and data on that. Some higher specs can reduce load times and other operation as well if you ever find yourself automating things like merging or adding collisions to thousands of .ifc-files or doing big datasmith imports. Big datasmith imports can fail, if you don‘t have enough ram to power through it.
I guess he uses 18GB of Ram, so maybe you don‘t need as much as I said, just want to add that. On Windows tho, I would not go below 32Gb. You will lose your sanity at some point.
Mac unreal can only package for Mac, if you are running a windows game then you need windows version of unreal. You could probably do it with parallels though but I have not tested it. 18gb of ram works fine for me on the Mac
im looking to get the m3 macbook pro. how well does UE5 run on the m3 MacBook. and what type of CPU and GPU specs should I have on the m3 MacBook to have good performance. I've only used macs so I'm leaning towards an m3 macbook. do you think its a good choice?
Hi. I’m trying to run UE5 on my M3 macbook pro max. But I’m having some problems. I saw that in your video you can turn on nanit triangle visualization. When I turn it on I can’t see any triangles, it runs as in lit mode. And I also have shadow issues. I can’t see the contact shadow and I think it’s kind of connected with lumen. Is there a solution for this problems? Thanks a lot
stop doing these useless videos man comon it should be like a menu like when u press f2 it should show a button with a skeletion name then when u press it it will change to the skeletion skin
this is how ut4 does it. pro tips. now i just wish someone could help me do it over in unreal engine 1 :D it's a bit more complex to setup, in the older engine.
Hi, how do you setup burst, or do i need to just copy paste the node like 3 times and add a delay in between. How about a parameter to spread the shotgun pellets like the distance to which it spreads beyond the center from the spawn point that is separate from the recoil? Lets say i have a separate logic to play the animation especially during automatic fire/linetrace that i want to connect to your nodes, is there any way to synchronize it with your nodes for automatic fire? ty
Hi, i have an M3 Macbook Air with the 10 core GPU and 24GB RAM. I opened the First Person Shooter project and loaded all the shaders but i just get around 20fps in the viewport. I tried it in Unreal Engine 5.2.1 and 5.4.1. Looking at your video it should be able to perform a lot better. Even a blanc project only runs with no more than 28 frames. Do you have any tips for me?
MacBook Air have a problem totally normal, it's heat, narrow-compact area to the chip and no fans to cooldown, you could tweak a bit settings like screen pourcentage but you'll always face thermal throttling issues, and macOS will always reduces performances with thermal throttling profiles when getting too hot.
This is great plugin. I have question, what if each of the pedestrian have their own separate rigs or animations? In case of Mixamo, unfortunately the rigs and models differ wildly as you demonstrated as well.
Mine was 2k and in most cases I would argue the Mac is better but it can’t compile for windows since Microsoft doesn’t allow that so unless you are only doing android, iOS, and Mac OS releases you would need windows. Macs are much higher quality in every category than windows
there’s so many QoL things with a mac laptop. you can unplug it and get 100% power output until the battery dies (which will take HOURS). if you’re just doing light/medium work, you’ll never hear the fans, and it won’t even get hot. Apple silicon is pretty incredible. With a windows laptop, you’ll be listening to your fans, while plugged in, because if you unplug- you’ll lose performance and the laptop will die shortly after. The MacBook is a beautifully functional laptop. Size, weight, form factor- the trackpad/gestures… it’s a great experience for those that don’t *need* a primary windows machine.
@@thesag3 i love windows but i agree on that. i hate pc laptop for this. i prefer spend more money on PC desktop than a 4K usd laptop dying in 2 hours. Want a laptop ? Get a Mac.
Thanks for uploading the video! I would suggest greatly boosting your audio on your videos, I had to crank my speakers all the way up to max just to hear you
It is simple as that, two importatnt things though: 1. Watch out if there's a collision capsule/box or some meshes in the blueprint of the skeletal mesh that you're targeting - that can easily entirely block your line trace. In collision, set their visibility trace to ignore(skeletal mesh to block Visibility) 2. If you're not seeing anything in decal material, after connecting A to opacity, connect A from texture Sample to Emissive Color as well.
