It’s actually the remains of a dwarf galaxy center swallowed up by the Milky Way millions to billions of years ago. We have identified seven (so far) hyper velocity stars orbiting an intermediate mass black hole. Actually writing my thesis on it.
@@Markaras yeah these are way easier than the old school styles. They break down into a small package so you can transport them easier. You definitely need a shroud to keep out stray light too.
I love these clearer and closer moon images a live video, better than what im able to get so far, but it shows me what the potential is To shoot for. I recently purchased a A lower cost svbony mk105 4 inch 1365 mm Maksutov cassegrain and a x2 & x3 Barlow But the weather here (oregon) has not Been good enough yet, yet its funny i love Capturing the moon live but when im ready to Capture dso and the moons out in full Glory I curse the hell out of it! 😅 Love all your moon shorts. Excellent "Final" video on TSP 2023, Will! Dr. Alan Stern was most impressive and interesting and you did a stellar and professional job at video and audio editing 👏 👍Keep looking up and enjoying the journey ✨️ Cheers!
This is awesome Will! Larry Mitchell is a master and you did a fantastic job at video editing his talk at TSP'23👌 Thank you and keep looking up and enjoying the journey ✨️ Cheers!
I tested this out this morning out of the box. Do I have to turn it on or something? I tried pointing it at the sun, and it’s completely dark. I’m in Las Vegas, and I couldn’t see anything at all, even pointing to the soon near noon. Any tricks you can recommend?
We will be!! And thank you for showing this to your class! I hope they get a kick out of it. If all goes to plan there will be another video this time too!
This video was great plus this music in background. People with such a fantastic passion meets together, have interesting conversation together and fun. 👌
Finally had a chance to watch the entire video. Two tickets Will? You are such a Rebel! A Renegade! A Rapscallion!! Awesome footage of a wonderful event!!
This was my first Texas star party in Fort Davis and it was truly amazing. My first day there i went inside my cabin before it got dark and came out after night fall. I was literally amazed at the sky. My mouth dropped open 😮 and the sight took my breath away. I had never seen the sky so lite up. A moment i will always remember. Beautiful beyond words. ✨
Hey Will, I finally am getting around to catching up with all of your videos and wanted to express my thanks for the great astronomy outreach videos you have produced; especially the star party videos. I really enjoyed this video in particular with the very enlightening presentation Stephen Hummel on McDonald Observatory (had no idea how significant it is so will definitely plan to visit in the future)! Really enjoy your videos and keep up the great enthusiasm you contribute to astronomy outreach. Keep looking up and enjoying the journey 👍😎👍Cheers! Cameron
Wow-thanks for the video. TSP is a far cry from what it used to be. The days of 6-700 the vendors, great speakers like O’Meara and Levy at the Prude Ranch are long gone. All good things eventually decline and end I guess.
While we may not have that many folks attending, the speakers are still top notch and the fun that’s had is the same. TSP is still one of the best star parties on the planet and I’ll go to the Prude every year for it if I can. 🤘😀
