If I had the funds to afford this property, I would take it in a heartbeat. I absolutely love the location! Off of a private drive, 20-25 minutes away (15 miles) from Palm Desert, which is why I still don't understand why people say it's in a terrible location. Up in the mountains, 20° cooler than the city at all times, slight breezes, practically 0% humidity, 360° views of the entire Coachella Valley, unobstructed sunlight all day, and the darker colors of the wood and stone keep the interiors naturally cool. What's wrong with that? 3 buildings dividing 9 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms, all on 7.5 acres of land, in California? That's hard to find right there. Now, there are renovations I would make if I did purchase this property, as it's not a historic landmark; I'd replace the wooden shingles on the roofs with burnt red or dark brown tile for fire safety and longevity of structure. I'd put up a more modern and secure gate along with modern security systems. I'd replace a lot, if not all, of the windows with big, wide, and modernized slide open windows to let natural breezes flow throughout the houses. I'd update some of the appliances and add some modern furniture. And I'd certainly add more efficient LED lights instead of lots of burnt halogen lights. Just to name a few. I might just try to get this property. We'll see what the future holds.
That paneling wast the very modern when this house was built. So you never heard of redoing a wall of paneling when buying a hiouse build in the fifties or sixties? I did. I tore the paneling out and put up plaster walls. If you can't afford to renovate, you can't afford this house.
Maybe to you but I love dark wood and low kelvin lighting. I's just about taste and I never cared about what is popular. As far as the view I think more about how wooded areas encroach on land and require constant maintenance. All that's missing is an inconspicuously placed array of solar panels. I have no idea how or who supplies water to the residence. In fact I'd turn the tennis courts into the solar array. Yes moderate temperature desert areas are great places to live.
@@OldTooly Totally agree. At least someone on here knows about Kelvin Temperature. I bought an older house, took the dark paneling down. Skim coated the real plaster walls and painted it white, BUT, I then furnished this house with DARK wooden antiques. The white always makes rooms look bigger, but I LOVE dark wood antiquie furniture. I was a professional Commercial Photographer all my life. Had to go to different shootings with my Kelvin Temp light meter. In my house, I HATE those "Daylight" bulbs. (5000 K). I use 2600 to 2700K lighting through the home. Putting wood paneling or ever worse, wall board like SheetRock over plaster walls knocks thousands off the price of a home that was built with plaster walls. I had all my walls skim coated and sanded smooth. I love plaster walls and they are a thing of the past. I was thinking about te water supply. I have friends in Vegas. The worst and hardest water in the country. I'm in NYC. Water comes rom the resovoir and is pretty good, but I still have a reverse osmosis filter system in the house. In places like Vegas, you have to have a water softening system PLUS a good filtration system.. Palm Desert, Ca. has one of the best water supplies in the country. With people like Bill Gates and other Billionaires living there, it's no surprise. "That groundwater requires no or minimal treatment to meet state and federal water quality standards. Employees collect more than 16,000 water samples per year to test for more than 100 regulated and unregulated substances. The District’s state-certified laboratory performs some of the tests while other samples are sent to contracted laboratories". Sounds like a great place to live
Interior still looks stylish and tasteful in 2021, well chosen and designed all those decades ago. Superb mountain views. Perhaps the valley can become too hot due to climate change, so a higher and cooler location might be a smart buy.
Show me the data of the average temperature where this houuse is located. Climate change is real, but it is not caused by humans .EVERY scientists who is not paid off by the government will tell you tht climate chage is due to the fact that we are STILL in an Ice Age but the Ice Age we are in is ending THEN, like in the past, the planet will flood with ALL the ice melting, then nature does it all over again. Look up "ICE AGE" on Wikipedia. .That's just ONE source where you will find the facts about ice ages and in particular, the one we are in right now which is ending, PS the average temperature of Palm Desert has actually DROPPED over the last fifty years. Do your homework.
place for me...sun evryday ...i need just like oxygen....i think its not too muche for save fhuther,freedom,soldiers of US....(really childerns yous becouse i dont heva any in 41 age im sure if dont choice US way 11 years and 6 month ago i heva now normal life,fhuther,own hot home,3 childrens with hot wife with big heart just like I and big garge,own busnnes but i choice US way and really not heva notthing and still evryday only lost here what i really hate europa and this tikes...i dont be waithing all life )
It hasn't sold in 15 years because of it's location, would not work as a main residence for most people , only a second get away place like frank used it for.
Hello John, thank you for your comment.. Sinatra used it as his summer house as the temperature is 20 degrees less then the desert below and to get away from it all when he needed a break from "Stardom". He could hang out with his A-list friends without paparazzi knowing at "Villa Maggio". It also makes a great getaway home for the weekends. It is actually only 18-20 minutes drive from the world class restaurants and shopping on El Paseo making it very livable and very private.
Average house in Denver can go for 1 million. And look what you can get for 4 mil.!!! Still if one thing..way too many bathrooms. Great for a huge family or a fun "community compound". Anyone say bunny ranch? Lol
A plain 2 story brick that I own and live in is going or 2.5 million here in NYC. ATTACHED on one side. 2 car garage which is RARE here. Sinatr's house at between four and five mil is a steal .But, don't forget the THREE most important things to know about a house befor buying. LOCATION, LOCATION and LOCATION
I need this house....ust like normal life...fot that what i du for US its notthing but this house its amezins,awsome and what i lost by 11years...icluding healty what i care all life...best years of life for men and family time...👼👶👶👶 any way its so amezing and ther its sun all year...i need sun and love...make me happy and feel muche better...next resons why dont like europa and never by my home...
