Yesterday, I was jogging with a friend and we saw one a 90s Roadmaster wagon. They were never sold in our country so you basically only know cars like that from the internet. He only said „Yeah looks like a ghetto car.“ but I explained to him how great this car is and how you could go on nice trips with it.
Both of my parents had a cellphone in the mid 90’s. We called them bag phones. They gotten a cell phone in the late 90’s. My 1st car had a tape cassette player with radio in the late 90’s. I had it till late May 2005. My 2nd car had a 6-disc CD player and radio. My 3rd car had CD player, radio, Sync or BT, and satellite radio. It was the same with my 4th vehicle. My current has Apple Car Play, BT, radio, and satellite radio. I do missed using a CD player. Even having driver’s assist and assisting parking. I have been wearing a seat belt a long time. My sister had an automatic seat belt that goes over the shoulder and still had to buckled up the lap belt. A few years ago that I told my neighbor to fastened his seat belt and he gave a big excuse in not wearing it. I told him off to put it on!! I didn’t want him to go through the windshield. All the vehicles had an airbags on the driver’s side and passenger side, too. Luckily they never went off on me.
My first car as a 25 yo university grad was a 1989 Sundance 4dr in 1996. Bought off an old lady who maintained it well. I drove that car all over for four years. The hatchback and flat rear seats were fantastic when I moved apartments.
I owned 3, a Z66, Z71, and a 2500 series with the 8.1 496ci vortec 8100 motor. Since then, I've leased since 2016 and currently have a 6.2 sierra at4. I'm looking to go back to an avalanche... these new prices are nothing but upcahrging for the same Mexican made plastic as back then. I also didn't mind the cladding. It just needed to be painted whether it was color matched or 2 tone. Those who've owned one know the ride is like no other pickup.
One I'd nominate is the Fiat Sedici, effectively a rebadged Suzuki SX4 for the European market. The SX4 itself was never that popular- in the UK it sold about 24k units between 2006 and 2015- but the Fiat, despite better dealer networks and brand recognition, was pulled in 2011 with only about 3000 sold- averaging 600 or so per year. The problem it had was most people going into Fiat dealers after 2007 were there for a 500. Anyone who wasn't would be looking for something a little bigger- AKA a Grande Punto. Anyone for whom that wasn't big enough could instead get an Idea, which was far more practical than a Sedici with better packaging. And, while not very good in itself, the Bravo (a direct rival to the likes of the Ford Focus) was prettier at a similar price point, at a time before crossovers became the default for many buyers
I couldn't believe Yakov Smirnoff did a commercial for "Omni America" and "Reliant America". So 1988 was officially, to me, the year we won the Cold War. Not 1990. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Omni/Horizon had "rebuild kits" available for the McPherson Struts in the early years (I've never seen those for any McPhersons since).
How about the Isuzu Impulse. I had one in high school. You never saw one back then and you never see one now. They were a weird little niche car that was quite fun to drive
20 years ago I used to drive a Kia, with a Mazda engine, and Ford Badges. It was a reliable car and the only reason I got rid of it was because I needed something bigger than a compact hatch back and had more horse power than a ride of lawnmower. To this day I still feel no shame in owning my Aspire and sometimes wish there was a way I could have kept it.
I have owned my avalanche for 3 years now; I love it. I’ve driven all across America and I’m even able to put my motorcycle on the bed, and tow a trailer because of the mid gate. One thing I do wish though, is that there was the option for a third front seat. It would’ve made complete sense due to the mid gate function
I sold my 1996 Buick Roadmaster to a gentleman in Los Angeles who was going to export it to Norway. God bless my dad's old station wagon and I hope it has a long life with its new owner.
My mom had a 2005 that had over 300.000 miles on it was the best running car I've ever seen. It never had any issues. She took very good care of it my step-dad was hit by a semi truck or they would still have it today
1978 Delta 88 Diesel! My father had that car back at the dealership every other month to replace head gaskets. They finally just replaced the engine with a gasoline engine. All those repairs were free and paid for by GMC. The car itself was ugly.
My first car was a green 1971 Monte Carlo custom! It had bucket seats floor shift with consol. AM-FM 8 track tape player. The engine was a turbo fire 350 with 270 hp. I hate I ever sold it! Probably the most reliable car I ever owned and the easiest to work on with all the room under the hood!
SO happy to see you at nearly 100k subs. I've been following you since 20k. 5:50 - Also, boys have a penis, girls have a vagina, since you brought up Kindergarten Cop, the movie the Left wants to cancel !!! Let's Go Brandon ! (Sorry, had to take advantage of this moment since the chant happened at a car race )
Can you do an video on the Honda Odyssey since we own a 2010 Honda Odyssey SE NHL EDITION named "ody" can you do that video in the future I wanna see more Honda and Toyota videos
How about the 2002 beetle turbo s. It was a 3 year only model with a 6 speed manual instead of a 5 speed and the engine out of a gti. I had one new back in 2002 and just recently bought another one of the same year. It was my favorite car ever.
My dad had a 2003 that he bought new in late 2003 & drove it for over 13 years with over 300k miles & no problems. Very reliable truck. He replaced it in early 2017 with his current 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
8:14 no, is not the same mclaren company, it was indeed founded by bruce mclaren , and was all the stuff left from the can am series when he died, so it became a tunning company, nothing to do with the british sports cars at that time
