Thank you for introducing me to the underground title of Hades 2. With only 32 THOUSAND reviews in the first two weeks of its release it really went under the radar. Seriously, why is that in there?
Played a lot of ADOM, Dungeons of Dredmor, Sword of the Stars, ToME. If Dwarf Fortress counts, that one is my favourite. Funnily enough, my first introduction to the genre was Chocobo's Dungeon 2 back in 1998 or 1999.
Listing Ender Magnolia instead of Ender Lilies is crazy given that the former only just released into early access and the latter is well established and beloved by many. Another good fit for the list would be Grime.
Great top. I'm an indie 'SOLO DEV' and just want to thank you a lot your work helping the gamers community and indies. I always keep supporting your videos. All the best for you IndiesPlay!!
BlazBlue Entropy Effect was NOT made nor even published by Arc System Works. It was made by 91Act. ASW have disbanded Team Blue, the development team behind the fighting games. Also, I believe "Frontier Hunter - Erza's wheel of fortune" should have been on the list instead of BBEE, because it is an actual metroidvania, not a roguelite with no metroidvania elements whatsoever.
Loved to hear your thoughts on these zombie games. With the state AAA is in I wouldn't be surprised if there is another surge in indie popularity. I'm a big fan of zombie games myself, and set out to make my own. I have a demo up on Steam now, it's called Barricade. It would be so cool to get feedback on it from you and the community. Keep up the good work that you do. Cheers!
Clunky and slow combat. The game feels like it wants to be a roguelite and metroidvania at once but isn't sure what it wants to be more, so it's as if it has an identity crisis. Enemies are pretty damage-spongy, have large hitboxes and don't suffer hit-stun. All that combined with how slowly the main character moves just doesn't make the combat feel good.
Bramble the Mountain King is a wonderful game. Only two boss battles are really difficult, but it's more about the story and visuals. Somebody sat down and wrote a complete story (with an ending I actually like!) And the creature design is excellent. An ideal adult fairy tale game.
Interesting Video!🙂 I liked the list! Another good indie game is No Time, an indie time travel game. It combines time travel mechanics with an open world, which is very rare. It also gives the player the option (free will) to choose which year to travel to (and more...). The developer added co-op multiplayer to the game a few months ago.
This happens alot. There are so many words that people use as a marketing or trendy ploy that bastradize the original meaning. EX: people are using the world AI for every program with out know what the word Artificial Intelligence means. When really most of them are just Automated Programs.
