my 4th-grade class was lied to when we toured it in the late 70s. we were told that the house had been moved here brick by brick.

There are many historical treasures to see in Des Moines. If you are looking for a place to visit with real history and nice people, go to Iowa.

I am now in my fifties but I grew up In Des Moines and when I was in grade school, went to Salibury House on a field trip. I remember it to this day. very interesting, especially the painting whose eyes follow you around the room. :D
