seriously helpful video. Bought 2 boards recently. one of them requires the valve to be pressed in and TURNED to stay open. Another thing, I bought an electric pump, it started to make the "compressor noise", my thought was that it was at it's max and I turned it off. Leaving me with 2 boards pumped to 7psi electrically and doing the rest by hand... thanks for the tip that this sound is normal and I should just let it do its thing!
I’m new to the sport. Yesterday I went 15 minutes without falling in. Drove home dry! Yippee. Great video. Thanks. I’d add: tighten your core and butt when you think you are losing your balance. And don’t look down.
manual double action or triple action pump are and will always be faster. manual pump takes you 3-5 mins. electric pump takes you double or sometimes triple the time.
So i followed every step and was in the sun, not hectic hot sun, just like mid afternoon sun. 24hrs later now the Solarex is still tackie- last 10 hours been in good sun. Please advise?
For those who need to replace the whole valve for one reason or another, I found a video where the tech removed the inside and then made up a donut patch to fit a new valve base. He got the new one into the old hole by cutting it open a bit and then glued down the patch. Not easy at all. If I ever have to do this, I'm considering using a leakfield valve instead. NRS sells them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x8n1p5ZEEMc.html Or search for installare una valvola di nuova generazione It's italian, turn on translate CC. Top Tip. loose the fear of falling in the water, by getting into the water and getting wet. If you have a wet suit or swim gear, you will then know there is nothing to fear. Once back on your board, you will have zero anxiety about falling in ,and you will instantly start to feel more in control of your board. Your will gain confidence in no time.
I am this person. I’ve been in the sea a few times and never fallen in. I need to man up and jump in haha. I’m a bit wary of how easy it is getting back on your back after your in water where you can’t touch the bottom
Warning: depending on the glue you use and the ambient temperature, do _not_ wait for a full three minutes; that's too long, the glue will harden and will not bond, no matter how hard you press the patches down. I wasted a lot of time and glue that way. Then i reapplied the glue and pressed the patches down immediately and they stuck well.
Not clenching feet was the major thing that helped me. Went out for my fourth time ever this morning, in less than idea conditions. Relaxing my feet gave me so much more balance! Thanks for the insight!!!
Trying to figure out how to repair the blowouts in the seams on both my Tower paddle boards…. They were in the back of our pick up for two hours in the sun. Not happy Tower!
I just watched a video where the tech removed the inside and then made up a donut patch to fit a new valve base. He got the new one into the old hole and then glued down the patch trapped into the new donut. Not easy at all. If I ever have to do this, I'm considering using a leakfield valve instead.
